“Love is a quiet, reassuring, relaxing, pottering, pedantic, harmonious hum of a thing; something you can easily forget is there, even though its palms are outstretched beneath you in case you fall.”
“The world is going down the drain and all we can say is ‘that sucks,' so maybe we're going down the drain too.”

“The sad truth is, you can't stay out of the forest because the world is a forest. And it's filled with predators. If someone is assaulted, it wasn't because they were careless, irresponsible, or dressed wrong.”
just know that every morning i open my eyes and ask myself, WWKKAGHFMFMD: what would karen kilgariff and georgia hardstark from my favorite murder do
ok i honestly don't know i how i feel about this book.
i loved a lot of it - the characters (rob and owen own my whole heart), the relationships, the family dynamics and how messy it all is. and while this book does bring up some important topics, it fails to really take a stance on any of them, which makes some of the messages a little blurry on this one.
aside from its incredibly predictable and rather underwhelming ending, maegan's inability to seem compelling as a character and the unnecessary romance subplot (am i blind?? cos there was no chemistry between rob and maegan), it's still a really enjoyable contemporary that doesn't shy away from darker themes.
also i need a whole book about owen
