It was fun, but this works best as an illustrated book, not as an audio book, so maybe I'll adjust that rating should I ever get a physical edition. :)
Gave up at 30%.
It was just too slow and, even though I got through the slow beginning of The Dresden Files, I don't feel like repeating that so soon after. I might continue sometime in the future though.

I guess Gaiman is just not for me. He makes me fall asleep even when I'm interested in the story

In my opinion one of King's best books. So fascinating how he can fill so many pages with 80 to 90 percent dialogue and still keep it thrilling!
I enjoyed this book! It was definitely not an in-depth description of every single European language, but I didn't expect that either. I enjoyed reading about language quirks that inspired me to do some further research more than once, which is basically what I wanted from a book like this.
One of the best dystopian novels I've read so far. I love how Atwood didn't really explain anything, instead it was shown merely by the protagonist's experiences. And it worked so well that way!
I don't agree with many of Atwood's political opinions (and therefore I, for my part, was reluctant to read this book worrying about it being too feminist), but The Handmaid's Tale turned out to be very differentiated and surprisingly unbiased – which makes me recommend it even to people who might not be so fond of feminism. ⚖️
Read it in only a couple of hours the same day I bought it. And it was so good! And I'm not even a fan of gore at all. But I just couldn't put the book aside. Definitely gonna try another Barker in the future (though hopefully an edition with less typos and printing errors).
Like many of King's newer books, this one's just plain okay. No interesting characters, no exciting story ...
I listened to the audio book, which was alright. But I probably wouldn't have finished it if I had read it myself.

2021 seems like the year of abandoned books for me. This one has made me feel too much like I waste my time while reading.
A great, easy-to-get-through read with a great mix of romance and tragedy. Solid four stars!
An interesting idea with likable characters that I wanna learn more about in the sequels. So far, I'm still waiting for a BAAAM. So let's see if the other books will surprise me!
This book was more entertaining again than the second part. In general, the author didn't max out the full potential of the idea though. But maybe I'm gonna get surprised again in part 4.
Considering all the good reviews for this book, it probably just isn't my cup of tea. It has a decent story that makes sense and includes likable characters, but I couldn't bring myself to be excited about anything happening in this book.

I did like the story, but I had problems with the writing, which made me switch to a detailed summary at some point. On one hand, I liked how the author managed to depict the protagonist's nightmarish thoughts. Unfortunately, the downside of that was that I had a hard time figuring out if some passages where meant to be cryptic or if I actually didn't understand what was going on.
