Sharp observations that show how the South and West quite literally remember, hold on to, or forget, history. Very much classic Joan Didion

This is incredibly good. Love the way Rankine plays with language and throws around references from classic literature to pop culture. Highly HIGHLY recommend

Too scared to show people I'm reading this

wtf this is good

Niet leuk, maar ook niet niet leuk

I really don't know what it is that I just read actually. Wanted to read it to see if it was worth it to read her other books, especially since Ali Smith is such a big author now.

Think I didn't pick the right one for now

If you have read Open Water and loved it, you will surely love this.

Absolutely stunning piece of work.

Honestly wish I'd have read this before I read the stranger

Blijft prachtig na de zoveelste keer lezen

So so so bad. It's patriarchal, degrading, objectifying. Ugh, I don't get romance books

I love this book. It is challenging, and makes you question, morally speaking, the (current) existence of mankind, its ‘achievements' and aspirations, and its norms. A M A Z I N G

Also uncanny writing, again.

Cannot compare this to A Little Life though, so 4 stars instead of 5 lol

This...is incredibly good. Especially to read as someone who is Dutch; definitely recommend it.

Hmmm, honestly not that good

Hard to get through to be honest, but VERY good
