Practical, accessible and useful workbook to work on your own self esteem, wether you are a teen or not. I recommend it!
In appearance, this author proclaims and encourages to “support young's potentials, build social network and live every day to the fullest”. When you read more deeply, you realize that this collection of essays is filled with very backward, judgmental and dangerous ideas.
I gave it one star because of several problematic opinions he has proclaimed, one of the most dangerous being: “If young people neglect their lives, spend all their times in idle pursuit, are overly cautious, allow themselves to be weak and ineffectual, then they are guilty of commiting spiritual suicide. No course of action could be more shallow or ill-considered.”
Many red flags like this one makes me run away from this cult-like writer.
One of my favorite children's books. Sweet baby umbrella helping and welcoming everyone!

The illustrations were good, but the content of the book was creepy. I didn't like the idea of aliens snicking out in our gardens, trying our pants and then stealing a few of them. –or having to check while getting dressed if there's not one still playing inside.
I thought it would be a book like “The vegetables in underpants”, teaching kids how to feel comfortable wearing pants.
A sad and difficult story about healing and moving on from the past, enlightened by the beautiful illustrations of Brian Wildsmith.
A sweet book about the love of a kid for his mama. Also a great book to learn how to be responsible, help with the house chores, and clean up after yourself.
The narration was very good. I enjoyed the depiction of the girl with gender-neutral haircut and clothes.
We need more books about children's allergies and the difficulty to say goodbye to your pet friends. I loved the first part of the book, but disagreed with the second part.
The golden fish had to go through a lot of very stressful and dangerous situations (brought to a movie theater, pulled to a tree house, transported in a cart on the street). It is not presented this way, but there would have been a high chance for this fish not to survive so much stress. I didn't feel like Aaron was taking a good care of the fish.

Duck is literally bullying Goose and preventing them from doing any fun activity, just because... it's Christmas time, and it's time to decorate the Christmas tree. The story ends quite abruptly and I wished they could have played together to end this book on a more positive note.
Jessixa Bagley is the best discovery of this month. I absolutely love her two books Before I Leave and Boats for Papa. They are both extremely well written and illustrated, introducing nice and sensitive characters who go through a major life event, and cope with it by showing healthy emotions and mature communication skills. I can not recommend her books enough!

This is a wonderful story about following your passion and being brave enough to leave your family and explore your talent in a big new world. I absolutely loved the way different emotions were narrated: the fear of leaving and making your family sad, the fear of having been forgotten, the fear of making them angry, the longing for home, the uncertainty about going back, and in the end, the pride and joy of family reunion. Such a important story for kids, told in a beautiful way, and brilliantly illustrated.

A disappointing book about a queen who loves her doudou, and becomes completely depressed when she looses it, until the king, her husband, fixes it.
Great book to encourage kids to wear glasses, but I wished that Douglas didn't have to go to a very dangerous situation to start wearing glasses.
Overall this book does its job: presenting Magnum's mission and history amongs samples of its photographers. There are a lot of archives (commercial work, newspapers, correspondances between members...). The book feels academic and I missed the feeling of connection that I usually get from a photography book. A good occasion to discover less famous photographers tho.
One of my favorite children's books of the year! The sweet story of a duck with wooden wigs on a carrousel who dreams of flying. One day, a tiny yellow baby duck appears through the gates. From that day, the life of duck will change forever.
One star because the story starts with a black little boy... who becomes white in his own drawing. The illustrator colored the tiger, the zebra and so many other elements, but somehow the kid becomes white with straight hair. And the story is unremarkable.
I was not sure if I would like his work but I really did. It makes me feel calm and relaxed. It creates images of an ideal house next to a river, with a garden filled with flowers. A great experience :)
