This book was everything I expected from it. An easy read, court plots and great romance.
Gave me gossip girl vibe from another decade.
A great sequel to “Shadow and Bone”. The relation with the characters is deepening. You feel hope, fear, anticipation...
The story is so great... can't wait to read the end.
This is not my kind of book but it was picked in the book club so I gave it a try.
I was not ready to be unable to put it down. The story of Evelyn Hugo was haunting me when I was not reading and I couldn't wait to know the full story of her life.
This was amazing. The character felt so real and will for sure stay with me.
Sadly, my difficulty to get involved in the story due to its absolute complexity lasted till the end of this book.
I still feel like I missed so many things. I feel at the end this complexity ( especially the vocabulary) didn't add anything to the story.
Still a 3,5 because it is good but oh my it is difficult to read.
I read Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson and it was WAY better. This is her debut novel so I guess this explain that. But you can already discover how she has the capacity to reinvent the classical magical worlds and rules . Really inventive but it felt quite long and a bit underwhelming.
This was so intimidating and it took me two tries to read it but what an adventure. This epic and so well written. I highly recommend it.
A nice sequel to the book serie but seriously Sarah J Maas is taking any occasion to write a sex scene in this one which basically ruin some of the reading for me.
Hope it is not the same with the two last books.
I keep it at 4 stars because I think the global story is very deep and well written. She always manage to find her way to me as everything seemed to have been well though since the beginning.

I am really torn by this final book, but I think the first trilogy is well wrapped up and we have no loose ends.
But it was soooooo sloooooow. That is why it looses 1 star for me. Could have been -200 pages and being perfect.
This book is indisputably a great book.
The universe is so original, character well built, diverse etc... I've for sure never read anything similar.
But the writing was so difficult for me to get in.
The complexity of the informations you have to compute was important and due to English not being my first language I had difficulties to get in.
It is not a light reading !!
I am really curious to know what's going to happen in the next book now that I am more familiar with the all context. Would definitely recommend but not to people new to fantasy or reading in english.
I just dropped the book one day and never finished it. Why?
Because I got bored sincerely. I think it has the same faults as the maze runner series, it just lack something which makes you really care about the characters and what happen to them.
You have great ideas in this book but it just didn't work for me.

The storytelling is far from the quality of the third book. Mainly introspection and chat... barely anything happens.
Hope the fifth one is better or I may not finish all books.
