Felt a bit confused for the first hundred pages or so and thought surely it was over-hyped... but it grew on me despite the messy world-building. What didn't grow on me, though, are the dumb ass names.

It's hard to rate the novellas since I already know what happens in later books, but it was interesting learning background information and world-building. I know these remaining books will tie even more things together.

Maybe I should have read this first to have more background explained? However, certain things have clicked into place with a stronger emotional impact in this order. Maybe I'll read ToG again to see what other connections or easter eggs I might have forgotten.

Some of the stories were hard for me to follow, but many of them were very informative and eye-opening. Good cultural preparation for my study abroad trip.

Aspen and Lucy?? It just didn't work for me. I finally came around to the idea of Maxom and America, but the .25 I took away is for Aspen's pairing.
