The first and last 50 pages were outstanding and the epilogue was so haunting!! Heads up though if you don't like open/ambiguous endings. I thought the middle dragged a bit, but overall it was a very entertaining ~suburban drama~ style domestic thriller.

this story really sucked me in but the ending was so underwhelming yet simultaneously out of left field. i like mysteries that trick me but still track when i can look back at the clues i missed previously. this wasn't that, but the middle 200 pages grabbed my attention nonetheless. 3 stars!!

3.5 rounded up bc the beginning slapped but the end was eh

wow. no words can describe how this book makes you feel and how deeply it makes you think about things you may have never considered. this is such an important piece of work and one of my new favorite books of all time.

4.5✨ full thoughts in a secret tbr video coming soon!!

I LOVED THIS BOOK !!! NOT ME CRYING OVER A FICTIONAL FEMALE PRESIDENT & HER FICTIONAL BISEXUAL SON I-

sooooo close to a 5 star! a surprising, twisted and sumptuous domestic thriller in which everyone has dark secrets looming beneath the glamour. reminiscent of The Last Mrs. Parrish, one of my all time faves, and Jane Eyre (it's a modern re-telling, so.... duh).

i didn't love every aspect of this book, but i don't think i was supposed to. this one made me think!!

page-turning, drama filled & morally questionable. less of a thriller and more of a suburban drama, think Little Fires Everywhere but make it petty. in other words, i'm living for it.

is this basically a dramatic hallmark movie on book form? yes. did i hate it? absolutely not.

5 STARS?? WHAT?? it's not a new ~favorite~ per say, but i literally can't find anything wrong with it... i liked everything about it. highly recommend if you're looking for an atmospheric winter thriller!! for fans of one by one!!

one part Pretty Girls, one part Behind Closed Doors, overarching feminist themes + a not-so-ambiguous ending? yep. this is a perfect thriller.

not my favorite poirot novel, but it had a fun fall vibe to it so i didn't really mind that it was predictable!

4.5✨ uhhhhhhhh i only have two things to say: 1. gimme the sequel now 2. CONNOR!

i know this is an unpopular opinion but i really enjoyed this book! sometimes you just need a cozy and slightly predictable mystery. i was thoroughly entertained by the morally gray characters and atmospheric setting! 4 stars ⭐️
