this was very sad and depressing and yet again I really liked it. grown is still better in my opinion but this one is up there too. I just struggled with being confused for like 80% of the book and after it made sense i liked the story more. I think this has a reread potential too so maybe I will one day. tiffanny d jackson slowly becoming my fav author, can't wait to read her other stuff
3.5
this was a solid and quick read. u can pretty much guess the whole plot after reading the synopsis and i was expecting something more from this book idk
this was a solid 3 star series
loved the first half of this one and then it got kinda boring :/ love the characters but every book in the series had me reading with a straight face and took me way too long to finish it so it's not anything amazing to me personally
this was definitely better than the 1st book and there was some plot twists that got me. loving the slow burn too
I'm sorry but if I waste my time to read over 700 pages there better be a satisfying ending. or any ending.
average thriller, nothing special but nothing bad either. maybe a little annoying at times bc of the narrator
2.5
started so good I was very invested but then the second half of the book was very boring and the ending/explanation was kind of nothing and I'm dissapointed. hated his other book and this one was meh.
2.5?
very conflicted bc the ending made me tear up and the whole character of merry was very sad and I love her so much and I think she's the cutest kid character I've ever read about. but all that aside the book was just okay and I don't really know what the point was coz I feel like as a reader u know right away this was about mental illness so there's no surprise factor? idk im just sad over this little kid being manipulated and not understanding what she did, that part made me want to cry so bad (if that story is real, but either way I'm sad)
3.75
this was a pretty standard ya book for the most part; really enjoyed the fbi parts, the romance not so much (it was mostly cringy). the last 30 pages were good so I bumped the rating up and I will give the series a chance! yeah it's not perfect but I'm trying not to be harsh on ya, especially since this one was mostly readable and not too youngish

i was so scared and intimidated to read this book but to my surprise something clicked in my brain and I really enjoyed this one. I couldn't put it down which is so rare for me with classics, it was just so fascinating and also ridiculous and i wanted to know where this is going. sure maybe some stuff flew over my head but the things understood I did like alot and related to, to the point of feeling bad for the character at times. idk if there's something wrong with me too but I did understand what he means and reading the second part was so frustrating to me with how everyone around him chose to hang on all of the unimportant issues and making a huge deal out of nothing just bc they didn't see a point, they had to find one themselves no matter what (at least that's how I understood it). also bonus points for making me laugh once which is insane for a classic idk I didn't expect that
this was okay, very boring at times and took me 3 days to finish despite how short it is. part one was the only one i “enjoyed” (if u can even call it that), the rest was just not that interesting to me. i'd prefer if the whole book was just victim testimonies because that's the most important in my opinion. still an important read and i learned some stuff from it that i havent heard before.
2.5
there's something abt this book that I just don't like, I think the way it's written and told is not my favourite
1.5
way too long for what it was. i'd give it 5 stars if it was a short story bc the idea and commentary on motherhood and being a wife and a woman was great but after like 50 pages we were going in circles and I was bored out of my mind
podobało mi się tylko opowiadanie o laurze, reszta i zakonczenie bez szału. nic nowego
very quick read, nothing shocking or amazing but i enjoyed it + i appreciate the commentary about women struggling with depression and marriage which was rare back in the day
fun little thriller, perfect for work commuting. predictable and nothing I haven't read before but enjoyed
