It started off a bit slow then it got vaguely insectoid-sexual and got a bit better once the plot started moving at a good pace.

The idea that another species would proactively sterilize another is pretty much the basis of The Three Body Problem series. If that interests you.
I love the murderbot diaries. They are so well written. I thought of earlier while returning it to the library. Wells has created a social anxiety super hero. Or maybe a super hero on the spectrum. Very good.
This book was much more heavy and hard hitting than the first. Lots of tough topics touched. I am excited to see where it goes next.
The way these books are written with nesting parentheses and stuff makes it for d funny read. I could read Murderbot adventures for a long time and never get bored.
I would say 3.5 rounded up to 4.
I watch Rhett and Link every day and was excited to read their book. I think knowing it was their names but slightly off kind of distracted me. If that hadn't pulled me out so often I would have liked it a bit more.
They really create a fun mystery that goes places I didn't expect by the end. Good job guys. Would read a sequel.
Not as good as the first zoey book but enjoyable nonetheless. It was a quick and fun read. I will read the sequels.
Man talk about both good and bad. This book was good but it made me feel bad. I'm glad she's doing better.
I think I may have skipped a book in the series by accident. Some things were a bit confusing. I want to go back and find out what I missed. I enjoy the character but it seems like the action doesn't start until the last 3rd of the books each time.
Exit strategy was very good. It out Murderbot at a semi conclusion to the events of the first book and we got to see him interact with the humans he considers friends. Very satisfying.
I have a love hate relationship with the culture novels. The universe is so interesting but the books are really hit or really miss for me. Consider Plebias was alright, it throws you into the deep end pretty quick and it takes a whole book to wrap your head around the universe. Player of Games was really really good. Use of Weapons was pretty bad. It is not immediately obvious but the “odd” chapters are from a certain point of time to the end and the “even” chapters are in the past but going backwards each chapter. So in essence the last “even” chapter should have been the first chapter of the book and the first “odd” chapter should have been the middle of the book. Not only that but in some chapters there are flash backs in the flash backs. It makes it extremely hard to keep track of what is going on, who is who, why is what and where is who.
It was all over the place. I will keep going with the series but instead of hitting the fourth book right away I'm going to give it a couple of months to wash the taste of this one out of my mouth.
The author had quite a few inciteful things to say about the economics of star trek and what it means in relation to the real world. I enjoyed the comparisons. The authors extensive background in economics really helps ground science fiction ideals in real world theory. I would recommend this to anyone who thinks deeply about star trek and the lessons we can gleam from the show to aspire to recreate in the world we live in.
This series was incredibly readable. Meyer has a really good writing style that makes 600 page books fly by. I did not see the epilogue coming so good job on that one! I would read another series in this universe.
David Wong can definitely write a fun story. It always keeps me going one more chapter one more chapter then it's midnight and I should have been in bed.
I enjoy the back and forth between the two character points of view in this series. I am not sure how much actually happened until the end of this book but I enjoyed the journey none the less. I am excited for the final book at the end of this year.
This one was good but not as good as previous 2 books. There was way too much time spent on characters that i didnt really care about. still excited to see whats next though
Holy crap.
That was an extremely good read. I cannot even begin to describe how much of a ride that was. There was a bit there at the beginning that started slow but I think it ramps up quickly and doesn't let that tension go for a second.
The hard science here, to a layperson, seems so believable that it really sells the premise. I don't want to go into too many details but, please read this book if you enjoy science fiction.
This was a weird one. It started as fan fiction to the original trilogy that the author allowed to be cannon. It gets very very meta at the end. It essentially fills in gaps in the story and fleshes them out more and explains more of the end of the trilogy.
This was a really heart felt and emotional book. I usually read science fiction both hard and soft and the description of this book gave it that vibe but by the time I realized it was less sci-fi and more interpersonal it had already hooked me.
The bobiverse series is some of the best, fun reading I've done in a while. The books just move so quick and the whole thing is just a blast. I love the universe created and the ideas brought about by the technologies involved. Can't wait for the next one.
I read the bobiverse books before this but I have to say the author had the same vibe even on his first book. If you loved the bobiverse series you'll enjoy this one as well.
The end lagged a bit but it is very cool to see the authors next logical leap from here to the Bobiverse series. Those are where he really shined and I can see glimpses of that in this book.
For some reason I appreciate the matter of fact interview style of the book. It reminds me of world war z. I immediately borrowed the second book in the series!
These books are so good I have to slow down reading them while my library procures the next in the series. I don't want to spoil anything in this second book but it continues the story of The Bobs and the threat that the local universe is under. Dennis Taylor really has hit a chord here with this story.
I understood like 10% of the science terms and explanations of techno-babble but boy was it an enjoyable book. I had not read anything by Egan before but this has made me start looking into other books by him.
