I think this book might have been better than the first, even. Bobbie and Avasarala are my favorite new characters in a long time.
This book hit me harder than Safe Area Gorazde, with it's stories from all over the world of underprivileged people and those taking advantage of them.
This was really great, Scalzi really pulls all the stops, and makes the whole puzzle fit together in the end with no deus ex machina. I look forward to more.
I love how this book is constructed, it's like a Scottish version of a John Irving novel. Definitely coming back for more Ian Banks books in 2018!
I liked the teenage characters in this, they were very authentic, but the ghost story still makes me wonder what it was about. Liked it overall, and I want to read more of the author's book. I have Pumpkinheads right here in my to-read pile.
Tolerable. I'm not really into Steampunk, but this book doesn't dwell so much on weird technology. Also not a huge fan of zombie stories, but again, those aren't really the main focus.
I had been meaning to read this since before the Trump presidency, and finally got around to it. This book is both a classic and very relevant today. Lewis presents a very plausible version of American fascism grounded in a mix of corporate power and populism.
I didn't care too much about the Palacial subplot, but everything else was good stuff.
This was a fun story, the audiobook was well narrated, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Another fun read in a series that I'm beginning to really like The unexpected Tolkien references had me laughing out loud.
The Outlaw, another story featuring Gen and Stray Dog, is heart-breaking, and I think it's my favorite in this volume, even if it does not feature Usagi.
A very fine second book in a series that did nothing to curb my enthusiasm about the setting, characters, or writing. Ends a little bit unresolved, so I need to get my hands on number three asap.
This collection of stories might be my favorite of the Hellboy books I've read. Especially the Humunculus and the Wolves.
