An epic finale for Beyond The Grid storyline.
The Praetor is giving his all to stop the rangers from ruining his legacy of becoming the savior of the void while keeping his totalitarian rule stays and he face the might of the Solar Rangers that are determined to destroy him once and for all.
It's so breathtaking, Marguerite Bennett really keeps the tension of The Praetor exists while also made the ranger or in this case the member of the Solar Rangers vulnerable yet also strong at the same time (especially Mike)
The art is very gorgeous and so good to look at, a staple of Power Rangers comic.
Kudos to Boom for making another modern classic!
They know Loki as the trickster, the God of Evil and perhaps one of the greatest villain ever existed in Marvel Universe but do they really know what he feels? how desperately he wants to change his role as a villain? how he wants to accepted by his brethren on Asgard and his sadness bearing the role of an evil god?
Surely not many know.
Al Ewing perfectly makes a beautiful story, that is inspired by MCU's version of Loki, into a story that is unique and true to the character itself which can be a bit complicated at times but also charming in it's own way. A must read for Loki fans and also people who want to know more about comic Loki
Basically this is Earth-2 World's End storyline but mashed with Marvel Zombies's uh... zombies.
The premise is interesting enough that it makes me want to read it and also seeing that DC Comics rarely have a zombie inspired theme since Black Lantern in Darkest Night storyline (cmiiw) made this an awesome comic book by itself.
And i also loved the big twist at the ending, it definitely made this comic unique and different than other zombie comics out there, so i would really recommend people who wants a different superhero zombie story to read this one.
It really serves as a good prologue for Beyond The Grid arc but sadly it's a bit too short.
The best sci-fi comic that i've missed last year.
From the story to the other elements in the comic, it is a splendid book with such a good story and also nice art style.
Man, they don't really give the Power Rangers a break.
Necessary Evil is a brand new story about Lord Zedd return and his ambition to invade the Earth while our friendly Power Rangers are struggling to find the chemistry between the new faces and the OG's that made a rift in their bond as a team.
A great prologue for a great event, Dayne is really showing his fang as the first major antagonist of this chapter and what he did is very good by challenging every rangers from their own weaknesses and striking it in both fronts.
The art is stunning and what can i say besides read this book?
It's basically a good alternate history comic that incorporates superhero element in it.
Stalinverse world is also rich with it's lore, even though it's rooted in superhero characteristics, they're still pretty unique on their own and also gives a deep context about what the story is about and references about Russian Folklore which isn't used in media nowadays.
Overall, it's a good one to read.
Welcome To Your Nightmare!
Tbh i'm a sucker for alternate history/historical fiction type of story because of it's way to retell or bring up brand new story that would've happen and Iron Widow fits the criteria by having the only woman emperor in China, Emperor Wu Zetian, as the main protagonist in this futuristic nation called Huaxia with lots of intrigue and politics that happen in it.
I love how Xiran brought up the gender issues that happened in old China like misogynistic views about woman, beauty standards that make woman suffer (esp. binded legs) and concubines that are basically tools for men to succeed in a very realistic way and even though it maybe a bit controversial but some of it are still exist today whether you like it or not.
The characters are also written in a very solid way especially Shimin with it's background completely changed yet still manage to make me invested in the series and also MECHAS!!! THE MECHAS ARE AWESOME AND ALSO FROM THE FOUR SYMBOLS!!!
My inner Chinese History Geek side fills with joy 😹
In the end, Iron Widow is a book filled with potential and i hope i can read the sequel very soon!
p.s : So.... Zetian is basically Lelouch?
