Why this book?
This book manages to show us humanity both at its best and worst, when reacting to a calamity. You can see the cooperation to survive as they build their escape from earth, but also the agression and fear, when the Venezuelan govenment notices they are being left out (i think it was the venezuelan). Its a tale anout desperation, love, cooperation and resilience, the first BIG book I read.
Why this book?
I’ll use this one to refer to the whole collection. Hyperion was the first book that got me back interested in literature last year. It has the most complete character stories out of any book ive ever seen. Pretty much the entirety of the first book is dedicated to the backstory of its characters!). its really fun to slowly see each story connecting to another and seeing that all characters are related to one another on the first book. the other ones just make you feel totally engulfed in a universe and a story so de se that if you dont take the time to think everything through, you wont have appreciated the collection.
