I love oak so much, jude and cardan are so funny I can't
this book was definitely more sad than the other book of elfhame in my opinion, but it's well balanced with funny and heartwarming moments
“When she is not around, I invent her. When she is around, I invent her. It is not her fault.”
as bunny, i felt like the mc was in a fever dream, i still don't know if the story was a dream or not
she was over self-aware because of her lack of self confidence
her obsession for mrs s was entirely created and feed by her own fantasy/phantasm
overall I liked the character study but I don't think that it is a book I will especially remember
can't really pin-point why I'm in love with this book, it just resonated something within me
Melissa broder's writing is exquisite, one of my favorite author
oh wow, this is EVERYTHING I love
gothic, sapphic and polyamory but also the representation of domestic violence is depicted in such a subtle yet stifling way
the first half was difficult for me to get through, some of the chapter triggered me so much (even if I knew what the book was about, I chose to read it so... my bad)
the second half was interesting, I was just trying to understand the behaviors of Felix but didn't succeed lol
and then... the final chapter was kinda silly, I mean it was very simple and easy (but maybe we should see the life like Eileen did, idk)
how is it possible that SO many people closed their eyes and gave this 5 stars ?
the mother said that her daughter stole her husband from her ? excuse me but the problem is not your young daughter but your pedophile husband
omg I can't believe the hype that this book have, I actually have no words im so annoyed
also the way that is written the ptsd that Josie had and her reactions towards men, made her look like an extremist feminist who want to “kill all men”
it discredit the feminist cause, ugh im so pissed off
sorry but I cringe... not the book but the spicy-heterosexual romance it's definitely not for me AT ALL
help my eyes are embarrassed
“How was I supposed to differentiate between the pain due to the concussion and the pain due to the agony of everyday human life?”
in weird-feminist-saphic books we trust
be aware of what the book is about, take it seriously
then read it
the depiction of the trauma that it is, is amazing
4,5
stunning, amazing
this book isn't perfect, but it is a love story, with much more depth than others can have
I really don't know what I am doing here, I need to go live in Elfhame
she did it again... Holly Black... I LOVE HER
why didn't I read it sooner ? so much time wasted...
no seriously, Alice Oseman is a really incredible author
there's so much topics mentioned (domestic violence, end of friendships, cyber bully***, fear of academic failure...)
it's a YA novel but doesn't feel like it is,
I liked it so much ! weird shit happened, a complex sapphic relationship and a eerie setting
all I'm fond of
hum... the vibes were exactly what I expected them to be, but the plot felt flat to me
I didn't LOVE it, but I didn't HATE it either, it was a pretty good time overall
“Sophie could feel that the dark lump of Howl's heart was only beating very faintly between her fingers. It had to be Howl's heart she was holding.”
GIGGLING
DNF 34%
I tried, but I can't pass the age gap AT ALL
the bestfriend is shown as a young-naive-pure girl, everyone is lying to her
ex; they're all talking in the kitchen, but Erin and Cassie are literally making sex-jokes, that only them can understand, this is just immature
