This book is very different from the previous ones that I had read from Frank Peretti, because there are no angels or demons, neither dragons but a lot of journalistic chaos and a lot of description of the management of the TV. It was a very realistic story about the day in journalism, about how the information operate and the power groups. I found the characters most human and real (despite the supernatural gift of John Barrett) and as always, Frank Peretti makes every good story has a good message. I totally recommend it.
This book was so strange that at first I thought it was a continuation of of “The Martyr's song” but when I read that Seth had the gift of seeing the future, I completely changed my mind. This book talks about the future, love, the Middle East conflict, faith, etc.. I loved the characters and enjoyed every page but the names seemed a little strange but in the end, the whole story was great.
This short story was very “short” for me. I loved the explanation about the cryptography and how was discovered the secret treasure of Captain Kidd. Only it seemed too short and with an abrupt end because it doesn't mention what happens after share the treasure, but I loved the story from beginning to end. It was pretty entertaining.
Well, my feelings about this book are not defined yet. The media campaign has been done around Frankenstein made me think it would be a horror story but I was very disappointed because the story was too slow and heavy. At times I seemed to be reading the story of a suicidal-manic rather than a scientist. The narrative was too boring and Victor Frankenstein a man appeared weak and with overly dramatic feelings. It seemed as if all men were too idealized characters and they seemed more passionate about the exaltation of suffering and pain. Moreover, at no time mentioned the real name of the monster and I don't understand why everyone calls him with the name of his creator.
However, I found interesting from the point of view of the monster. It made me think of a facet of humanity in which I hadn't pondered before. In conclusion, I still don't know if I hate or love this book.
Wow!
When I read the title of this book, I thought it would be a dark horror story but I was wrong. This book is extremely humorous and funnny. I had never imagined! It is very well written and has a mischievous tone and ironic because the author makes fun of the misfortunes that happen to the characters. Also entertains the reader and it invites you to be part of this unique adventure
This story is very different from what he wrote in “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” but it shows the versatility of the writer and editorial quality.
I had never taken so long to read a book by Ted Dekker because I think that this is a very dramatic book and misfortunes seem to never end. Kent Anthony is like a zombie filled with sadness for most of history and only reacts to plan the perfect robbery. In a moment I thought that this story would not have a good ending, but when I read the meeting between Kent and Helen I changed my mind. The series of “Martyr's Song” is written for cry because it is quite skimmed and deep.
This schizophrenia makes it look like crazy, even though the narrator strives to prove otherwise. Whoever committed the crime shows his capacity for self-control and tells the details of the murder of the old man. Although he did not hate him, he is terrified and deep hatred for the eye of the old gentleman so he decides to murder the man to remove his evil eye. However, when he thinks he is free from all, now becomes obsessed with the beating of his hideous heart....
From far, my favorite short story of Poe. Morella is a complicated woman, eccentric and unique. This story is about a kind of revenge because Morella was never loved and her daughter was the glory and doom for her husband. Poe emphasizes the power of Morella even after her death and the end of the story leaves us shocked and amazed.
