In their youth, John and Hope got married without thinking it through, and afterwards, she repented and an online minister promised he would not send the forms and they wouldn't be legally married.
Ten years later, Hope accidentally learns that is not necessary to send the papers to be married. For years John had left town, but decided to return to settle in the place where he grew up; and better match, staying with Aunt Hope, Verna, who is like a mother to him. With all the emotions that come to her, Hope he doesn't know what to do because their your case an annulment isn't possible. The only way out is divorce, but she doesn't believe in divorce.
This story, aside from being quite tender and romantic, shows the reality of a couple going through a very unusual situation. The characters have different personalities, which sometimes collide because they fail to understand. But not all is tension and drama. Characters like Amity, Verna or Dan, make this story funny and totally adictive.
Furthermore, this short novel is set at Christmas and so is doubly special.
Although this book is very addictive and easy to read, was pretty predictable for me. However I recommend it.

Do you know what happens with short-stories? That they are short... Sometimes TOO SHORT.
This book was quite great and I really liked it. However i have a big problem with the ending... I guess that this is a prequel, secuel -or whatever- to [bc:Guy Erma and the Son of Empire|23126362|Guy Erma and the Son of Empire|Sally Ann Melia|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1409476999s/23126362.jpg|42674702]
If I'm right, it'll be great to read the next adventure.
I won this book through GoodReads and I thank to the author for providing me this copy but this fact didn't influence the review.
Erin Healy knows exactly how to lead us throughout the book, and follow the dramatic and moving story of a broken family. In this life full of lies, they must discover important values but the way it's not so easy to take.
Motherless is a unique story. It is narrated in the first person. The character moves from one scenario to another in a very strange way -as a ghost- and makes us wonder the reason why the character is in that state. Besides being the story of a mother, is that of a broken family living wrapped in a web of lies; and in the hour of truth, it will not be easy to accept, and what's more: forgiving.
The story is very dramatic and poignant, yet full of suspense and surprises. In the book there are many twists in the plot, that you can't speculate what's going to happen next.
If you've read any books by Erin Healy, you know that she has a particular and poignant way of telling things. Her novels always touch the heart, because you can identify some point in your life in the book.
Since the family is the center of the whole story, the issues it raises are very deep and I think it applies to anyone who feels that their family bond is riddled with lies. But Erin Healy, not satisfied with showing us the problems also leads us to a solution where we learn that all situations that seem torment us, have a solution.

My thoughts on the first half of the book: This deserves a 3 stars. The last half of the book: 3.5 stars!!!
This is a mixed-feelings book for me.
I loved Robert Liparulo in his Dreamhouse series and I don't know if they were easy to read because were YA, but this one was... Uhhh... a little long for me.
And I love big books -and I cannot lie- but I felt the author made the story too long.
However, it was quite creepy, so I liked that :)
This is one of those short stories that are too short because they make you think it is the beginning of an incredible novel, but then it ends and leaves you wanting more... Yeah, the deception...
But please, don't misunderstand me because I really liked it. The narration is great and it has a lot of action and the characters were very well constructed.
Something that I really loved is the reference to characters from another book by this author -wich I won't say because of the spoilers- and I'm quite sure if you have enjoyed her previous books, you'll love this short story too.
But if you haven't read any of her books... I mean, what are you waiting for??
Thanks to the author for providing me this copy. This fact didn't influence the review.
Better have an eye on this author, because SHE ROCKS!
This was my reaction when I recieved the book:
If [bc:War Kids 23301112 War Kids H.J. Lawson https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1412330693s/23301112.jpg 42443212] was great, this one is even BETTER!
The first chapters were shocking, because of the sexual abuse, but I think that those scenes were necessary to understand the personality of the characters. There are new characters that provide a hole new perspective of the war, and I have to admit that I really like the villain... His motivations are understandable.
I definitely wasn't expecting the new war and how apocalyptic the story became.
Did I say apocalyptic? Yeah, I did!
This is a series that I'll love to see in a movie (a great adaptation of course, not the boring movie based on the first 50 pages).
It's a fast reading but It'll be in your head for DAYS!
And my question for the author is WHEN IS THE NEW BOOK COMING OUT??? I want need the new book because that ending was...
The next thing I'm going to do is get a paperback :)
Thanks to the author for providing me this copy. This fact didn't influence the review.
Ok, let's be honest. Reading the plot I knew that this couldn't end in just ONE book, and I said: ‘If I like it, I'll buy the next book'
But you know what? I didn't like it... I LOVED IT!! This is one of the best books I've ever read!!!
I'm so freaking in love with this book that I can't even imagine how will be the next one! So I can't help asking to the author:
Why giving me away a free book if I have to wait until [bc:Survive The Day 23280059 Survive The Day (War Kids, #2) H.J. Lawson https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1411951167s/23280059.jpg 42818375] is released?
Yeah... I know... I ‘m being a little bit dramatic, but it's because I really really love this book.
Although the story is about Jada, there are more characters that give suspense to the story. Also it's very interesting how they are connected with each other, even without knowing it.
There are many exciting surprises and unexpected twists that I didn't anticipate and I'm very pleased for that.
I recommend this book for everyone who enjoys a good reading... This book is definitely worth it.
(I have a new favourite author! yay!)
A HUUUUGE thanks to the author for providing me this copy. I won this through a Goodreads giveaway but this fact didn't influence the review.
I have read [bc:The Beloved Daughter 17798886 The Beloved Daughter Alana Terry https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1365989786s/17798886.jpg 24898533] and I felt a little bit sad about the ending. This one had a better ending but I feel that I need another book...
WHERE'S THE NEXT BOOK??
The story is touching and very very emotional -even in the violent parts- It´s impossible to read this book and not be moved by the hard life that lead some people. Read reminds us that we must act and do something for this people.
The characters are strong and each of them are well defined. The whole story is addictive and makes you want more and more.
I had been waiting for Chung Cha's appearing but nothing happened... Despite of that, I really loved this story. I think that I have to add to Alana Terry to my list of favorite authors.
Thanks to the author for providing this copy . This fact did not influence the review.
Oh, dear... I feel like the Grinch in Christmas...
I like to have variety in my readings so I picked up this book thinking that it'll make me put in a fantasy-mood... But unfortunately I felt really lost and I couldn't connect with the story.
So, reading everybody else's reviews makes me think that maybe I'm not the best to read high fantasy.
If I recommend this book? Of course I do! It's quite great but only if you are madly in love with the genre.

A small book with a great message.
I usually don't read book for kids but this one caught my attention because of the tittle. The story is quite simple but it's beautifully written in an understandable way. I loved how the author explains angels and how she uses children's questions to answer important issues. Did I mention the book's illustrations?
I have not read other books by her but I'm quite sure I'll be checking them.

It's my first romantic comedy book and I've been very pleased with the story. I liked both stories, especially the last- and the ingenious way in which this novellas are developed.
I think the writer has a very unique and entertaining writing style and I hope in the future to read more books by her.

What an incredible book! It's my first Melody Carlson's book and I really liked it! I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm happy I read the book first. I think that it's important to know what's inside Grace's head because in the movie you can't do that, so sometimes I felt identified with her at some points.
I'm quite sure that I'm going to read more books of this author because her style is quite impressive.

Owww I really like this book! It's simply amazing!
And I know, some would say that it's for kids but: who cares?? I really enjoyed it and I think that this is no ONLY for kids, anyone can enjoy this book because the narrative is great, the characters are adorable, the message is powerful and will keep you hooked to the pages until you finish. So I recommend it to all people who want to have some fun and learn great lessons of life through this entertaining story.
However, I'd like to have more of Billy Stone's adventures... Is too much to ask?

Let me tell you something: I knew this free ebook will release today, so yesterday I preordered it and then I went to sleep... Well, almost. I couldn't wait anymore so today I woke up at 4 a.m. and started reading.
And...
If this is how [bc:The Legend of Sheba: Rise of a Queen 18775438 The Legend of Sheba Rise of a Queen Tosca Lee https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1400948720s/18775438.jpg 26680579] is gonna be, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love it too.
Love it!
Ok, I know that some people complain that this book has not been faithfully adapted and there are some deleted scenes, but let's face it, if they had made this graphic novel exactly like in the written books (Black, Red and White) this book would have more than 1000 pages!!
I admit that some characters were very different from what I imagined, but I liked the adaptation. Although I had wanted Green also adapted graphic novel.

I love, love, love this book! What else can I say? The plot was great, the characters were incredible and the end was... simply amazing. Now I understand so much better The Circle Series and I just can wait to read [b:Saint|125959|Saint (Paradise, #2)|Ted Dekker|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1407285068s/125959.jpg|681577] and [b:Sinner|3047320|Sinner (Paradise, #3)|Ted Dekker|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1406831683s/3047320.jpg|3077979].
I have a love-hate relationship with the Divergent series sometimes I've just want to kill the characters and sometimes I love them. So with this book I felt the same. I wish I had read this book before finishing [bc:Allegiant|18710190|Allegiant (Divergent, #3)|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1406726458s/18710190.jpg|15524549] because now it's really sad to read about Tris again... The book wasn't very interesting or new because it only explains a few things that are deducted from the entire series, but I enjoyed it but unfortunately not as much as [bc:Divergent|13335037|Divergent (Divergent, #1)|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1328559506s/13335037.jpg|13155899].
