I can't believe this is the end of The Redwood Rebels, it's a bittersweet feeling! The journey through this series is amazing and shocking; I'm actually sad this is the end but nonetheless each of the books had HEA.
It's a requirement to read book 1 and so on in order because it's all connected.
Finally we get to see and read Zed's story!
I swear I need to stop saying who's my favorite character for every book...I love them all and Rachel you just made me more emotional and moved by this, Tommy and Wyatt's love story was an epic one!
What started out as revenge, bully romance and enemies to lovers to die heart emotional soulmates! Each book gets better and more raw with emotions, and you got me falling harder for your characters, especially the rebel boys!
This book is everything and my number 1 favorite of this year! Reading this took me on a long slow burn journey. The characters are written very raw and it hit me in every way in my bones and heart.
It's a very heartwarming and heartbreaking story to read, if you're like me who loves deep driven stories with angst and spice, this book is for you! I can't tell you enough how much I highly recommend this series to many readers who love romance and angst. Emily made sure her books have HEA and Trust the Process was in this, through hardships that Blakely had to go through. There are trigger warnings such as ocd and eating disorders.
Jax is my #1 book boyfriend, since book 1 I've always loved him even through bits of pieces of him through the series. He was always a second choice and just someone to lean on. From the last book, he's bruised from how things went in Sugarlake and for that he had to move on in the hardest way and heal on his own. He's a charming flirt with a good sense of humor and heart of gold. It takes someone like Blakely to see so much more than what the public sees, and he just may have found someone that'll choose him always.
Blakely, oh where do I start with her, you wrote her with so much realism Emily. Her process from how she shows herself to be to who she really is something to analyze deeply. She has issues that take her a long time to realize and accept. Her journey is worth the read and it's not just mentally but physically to how she is. (Again keeping it vague for you readers!) She's a social media influencer for herself and brand of things but it's so on point to where everything has to be perfect....too perfect; Image and reputation.
At times I cried because of what she goes through, I could relate. It's a hard hitting home run for me that she does so much to keep herself in shape but her mental health gets the best of her. Emily, you wrote her character so raw and beautiful in a way to let us all know that it's ok to not be ok and to get what is needed, help. Mental health isn't talked about enough but authors like Emily really nailed it perfectly in these characters to make them aware of it themselves. Therapy was again mentioned in this like in the last two books.
Both Jax and Blakely are polar opposites but at the same time so perfect for eachother on a personal emotional level. Both deserve the love they need and to be chosen always for first choice. The spiciness was a top notch of hotness, slow and passionate. The hot tension got me feeling all bothered, in a good way! I had to take a breather every 5-10 minutes when the atmosphere went to 180!
This was very very sweet and swoon worthy read! The setting before Blairwood University was rather interesting since I didn't know what to expect. Anna you really kill it with these characters, giving such traits about them, as well one I hated yet was so written really well! It was over all wholesome and super sweet even with the family dynamic we read about with Kate's situation.
I did notice this was more light hearted than the book 1 and 2, not much angst but you still gave us something to fall deeply for and abit to cry about. So good
This was a heavy, intense, painful and emotional read. I mean every word of it.
I can't tell you how many times when conflict clashed, it felt like a bullet hit right to my heart and I cried a couple of times throughout the book. It was a very hard read but nothing I couldn't handle but I'd take precautions if you can't handle a lot q of trigger warnings and very dark matters!
I want to briefly mention that this is a second book in North Haven University so I have not read the first book but after reading this I want to read more by this author!
Reading Jace's chapters was very dark and personal, it was like living inside of his head and his feelings were very raw, his struggles; with going about since that night was endearing for him. Jace was a broken traumatized soul that needed guidance to better himself and this book has taught us a few things and I believe that's why it's called Change My Game. I could empathize on his feelings which hit very close to home for me.
Paige is such an angel, always there for anyone and puts them before her. My heart crushed every time she faced the worst and she had to be strong. Stubborn but no quitter either. She becomes a huge rock for Jace and her loved ones that she can sometimes need someone there for her as well. Hesitated at first about helping Jace out without knowing what she was getting herself into. As she got closer and closer to Jace, secrets were unraveled, in a brutal painful way. She pulls herself away from it all, but always find her way back to him no matter what:
This book is pure perfection in every way with so much to learn from, so much angst, steaminess and a lot of raw deep emotions all rolled into one. No doubt that you will want to read anything by Emily Mcintire because her way of writing just pulls at your heart & soul!!
This is book two to the Blairewood University Series, interconnected to the first book. If you haven't read the first one, I highly recommend it because book 1 it's so good and you'd have a better understanding on who the other two main characters are, Callie and Hayden.
Yasmin and Nixon both have secrets of their own, unknown to anyone until they accidentally clash one another. Nixon was attracted to Yasmin the moment they met but she was guarded, she wouldn't allow herself fall for another player or have one close to her heart to risk it being broken again.
One thing led to another, Yasmin realized she and him may not be so different from another but the risk they're taking; kiss by kiss that was meant to be a one time deal turned into more. Are they willing to take a leap into it or will it leave another broken heart?
This was very heart-wrenching, the grief and fear mixed into it was so much I'd take precautions if you can't handle deep emotional dynamics. I felt the weight of it on my chest, the heaviness! I love how that no matter what family and loved ones will always be there for you!
I loved Yasmin's character so much, her being such a hard worker, caring for others before herself and lastly embracing herself slowly. Nixon...I got to say I knew there was something about him I was gonna love, he is selfless and carries the weight on his shoulders to be the person to hold together for. He's not the guy we (including myself) presume him to be...
I really enjoyed reading this but found this to be a letdown for me. The plots were a mystery, I found the characters had a sense of creepiness all around and everywhere in the house. It gave me the vibes of a haunted house, Adams family and Saw 2 in a way (if you're a horror movie fan you'd know what I'm talking about). Even more so I loved the psychological part that played hugely in this. Though as much as I want to give this a full on 5 stars, the pace of the story very slow, it didn't keep me on my feet to see what to come. The upcoming plot/climax got me hooked but then downhill where everything seemed to simmer. I also had abit of an issue with Freya, I thought her character was very uptight and oblivious when she knew something wasn't right yet she bypassed her suspiciousness. Overall I thought there was a lot of good characteristics in this story to say the least!
Rating: 3/5 ⭐
This is my first time reading a book by Rachel Leigh and I truly fell in love with Striker and can't wait for book 2! Left off on such a good cliffhanger yet I'm like I must have book two right now! >.< This is a MUST MUST read if you love dark romances; this is very dark and deep with heavy topics and sexual content that some readers may not be comfortable with so you've been warned!
Striker holds a lot of secrets, dangerous ones that just might kill you. (
A story about first love that got away due to circumstances but somehow trying to rekindle, I'm sold! Reading this took my heart away from beginning to the end. So much raw emotions I couldnt put it down. (Love second chance romances) I'd grab tissues for this book because it tore me into pieces. Loved how it changed perspective back and forth with Teagan and Derek as well from past to present. They loved eachother since they were in high school and when they parted/stopped talking to eachother, it never changed how they felt for eachother. I love the characters and how they grow on eachother (Chastity and Everly). The growth of love and trust built into this book is just overwhelming well done. Love the steam action hehe. Surprisingly I love this more than Regretting You, not that I didn't love it but it had more heart-wrenching moments! 5/5 ⭐
I've been thinking alot on how to rate this and write down my thoughts on this poetry collection. It's very sad but beautiful like the words, the author is speaking to you, about healing and loss. “You can feel whole and empty at the same time” I found this to be triggering for me to read because I relate to some of the heartbreaks and memories that I didn't want to look back on but then I fond over some of the olf times as oppose to being young in love and not knowing what to expect of how a heartbreak would impact on me! Its nothing personal against the author, its a beautiful collection for the broken and damaged souls, the narrator tells you “You're not alone, I've been there” This left me thinking alot on heartbreak, and how much a person you love can affect you and without. It made reflect on how I was growing up feeling all this. Overall rating is 3.5/5 ⭐
This book deserve more than 5 stars, it's a MUST READ because after reading this, I had a major book hangover...it ruined me!
If I were 17 reading this, I'd be estatic and fangrirl over this giving it 5/5 ⭐ Not to say I didn't enjoy this but my reading perspective is abit or moreover so different. This is a really cute sweet fluffy romance that I'd highly recommend to those who aren't big fans on heavy romances. I really loved how family dynamics were very important to Becca and Brett. When they struggle or need someone to go to, they rely on eachother. Brett is a sweetheart, the way he cares and feels for Becca
This is my first Colleen Hoover book I read and boy did I fell in love with this book, it made me feel so much emotions! The relationship between mother and daughter is the most genuine thing in the world. Both Morgan and Clara just were too far away from eachother, full of misunderstanding and so much grief that it blinded what matters/was needed. This felt so surreal that I know out there someone is dealing with the same situation. The plot twists were amazing like I couldn't put it down, wanting to know more as I read on. The heartache, anger, and grieving got me feeling in all type of way. One thing was led to another made all the more reason for Clara not want to be like her mom or rather make the same mistake but in the end, it wasn't that way as she thought it had been happening! I would highly suggest anyone and I mean ANYONE who needs a read or want recs. This is on my top list. I want to say this has to be my 2020 best read so far
Oh my goodness, this was a quick read for me and I loved every second of it! The slow burns, the strong chemistry and oh the feels in my chest, the aching feeling I couldn't shake off! I even got giddy that I was rolling around in bed like an excited fan girl!
I read the synopsis once and went into it blindly. Having heard such good things about this book, I grabbed it instantly when I saw this in a thrift store and ditched the other books
I'd never imagine myself reading this kind of smut/erotica especially with this kind of trope, I don't know how you would define it (please comment below because I'm a noob
