Why this book?
I love this story in all its forms: The book first, and the various interpretations in film and television. The characters and the comedy of manners are so perfectly constructed. One of my comfort reads.

Why this book?
It's so charming and dreamlike and filled with love. I read it over and over during a challenging time in my life. I come back to it periodically and am charmed again.

Why this book?
For a long time this was the book I'd read again when I was feeling down, and it always cheered me up. If I was feeling REALLy down, I'd read the whole series again.
Why this book?
I pretty much love everything written by Elizabeth Strout and it all started here, with Olive Kitteridge. I love her use of language, her characters, and the way she builds stories about families and communities over time.
