3.75/5
it was really good until like the 65%-75% mark. i just felt like the end was super rushed? like after i finished it, i still had this feeling that it wasn't done and that there were like so many unanswered questions. that could just be me but the ending threw me off. i still enjoyed it nonetheless.
thank you to Ella maise for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
okay first of all, i love Ella's writing and just how she creates these situations that make you want to keep reading.
If I'm being honest, it did take me a while to actually like Charlie. That's probably because I'm not used to people being so completely transparent and 100% themselves; she was a bit embarrassing at times and made me cringe BUT i did end up loving her by the end of it.
Will, my lovely William. i love you. you can have my heart. that is all I will say about him.
overall, i give this book a 3.75/5. i was a bit disappointed, and i don't think i can exactly pinpoint why. to be frank, i started this right before my exams started and was reading a couple chapters here and there during exams, so it could be because i wasn't fully invested. But there were definitely times where I was bored.

“In what world could you possibly think I would belong to you?” “In the one we make together.”
i absolutely devoured this book. i loved the whole dynamic between Nix and Maxim, and man oh man, i LOVED Maxim. he says the cutest things. If you want a book that makes you fall in love with the couple and root for them the whole time, even when you know they're being stupid, definitely read this book.
Also, THE CLIFFHANGER??????? immediately reads book 2
