I wish there were more pictures and diagrams of techniques, and this felt disjointed, but some interesting recipes and I liked the way the author's story was interspersed.

Poorly translated and gimmicky pseudo-science crap. I like reading diverse cookbooks and I think this is the worst I've seen.

I really really loved the characters and the restaurant, as well as the educational component. This was just way too short, I would have loved more of it. Instead of a graphic novella, I would have loved to see this as a full length graphic novel.

Cheesy and pretty plot-less, with interesting ideas that turn out to be nothing or explained away. Just way too many loose ends.

Intriguing premise but the world felt full of plot holes and didn't feel consistent. I didn't like Jo much, and none of the characters felt particularly realistic.

Really well written and sensitive depiction of mental illness and recovery. It isn't linear and this shows that well. Perfect as always.

These were so weird and beautiful! I loved Chung's writing style, the sparse and unornamented descriptions, and the lessons in the stories. A couple were too slow paced and dragged, but most of them were exquisite.

I found this magazine in a library coffeeshop in Portland, Oregon, and enjoyed it while I drank a cup of bergamot tea. It was lovely and strange and unique, and I'm glad I picked it up.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters, political intrigue, and magic system were all really well done and captivating for me. I loved the main character and although some people didn't like the romance, I did.

I read Social Creatures and loved it, so I was optimistic about this one. But this was much less effectively queer, much less effectively toxic, and much less compelling. It felt pretentious in an almost parody-ish way, rather than the kind of pretentious you want in dark academia.

Easy to read and understand, but a little simplistic.

Interesting and heartbreaking. New perspectives that I hadn't thought of or learned about before. Definitely worth a read!

Beautiful and heartbreaking. I had no idea this was a queer story going in and am so in love with the way it was written. Emezi is a truly brilliant author.

Really beautiful and interesting storyline. I would have loved to see more character development but I know thats more difficult in a graphic novel.

This could have been beautiful but felt overly sentimental and weirdly anti-science and anti- mental health treatment. As a therapist this just wasn't it for me. As a scientist, the main character should have known better.

Pretty but not super practical. Interesting notes on foraging but not useful to the average cook. Like the seasonal focus though.

Great blend of well-researched information and humor - fantastically approachable and really interesting material. This was well done but the later chapters felt short and a little rushed.

Great inspiration, but there really aren't many recipes in here! I would have loved to see more, especially with how beautiful the pictures are and how great all the recipes sound.

This was honestly one of the best thrillers I've ever read! So twisty and full of secrets and hints! All the characters were flawed and tortured and I loved every second of it.

Kind of meandering and pointless. I love a book about teenage obsession but this just felt sad and half-formed. Lots of parental neglect, missing the obvious, and a main character who doesn't really grow up.

This was weird and beautiful, I loved how ominous it was and how the two story threads come together perfectly. The ending was impeccable as well. We need more queer stories like this where queerness isn't the focus, but just part of the backdrop.

I really loved the art and the characters here, but would have loved some deeper exploration of Lu's world and her relationship with Fassen. The queer representation was fantastic.

Lala's story was entirely engrossing and beautifully written. I loved the dialogue here, and the book was brutal and riveting. The only complaint I have is that I would have loved to see more of Mira's story.

Beautifully written, exactly what one would expect from Jemisin. Her work is truly epic in scope and richly detailed.
