Not bad, not as good as ‘Harrow County,' which builds its world a bit better. Granted, ‘Blood Feud' is a realistic, modern world, but the characters weren't as well-developed as HC. But there was some nice grue, I liked Jack, and the Master was sufficiently awesome-looking. I do wish they'd done more with the Master, though.
The art was good, vibrant, reminded me of modern Western animation. It wasn't quite what I expected. Valla is good fun. She's an ecowarrior vampire who lived in the sea for a century and made ocean friends. And her ocean friends are precious. Her entire posse is precious in the book. The villains aren't nearly as endearing or enjoyable as she is. But Valla–she's cathartic.
WAIT, WHAT? RODDERS, NOOO!
Also, why you fightin' like that with Megatron, Rodders?
Also, DRIFTROD.
This translation is mind-boggling, but it's a fun read. I got it at one of Kurihara-sensei's panels at Naka-Kon in Kansas City.
I usually like Cullen Bunn, but this one tried to compress an amazing idea into too short a book. It was like anti-Arthurian Cliff's Notes. The art was...okay, but not the best.
I am endlessly fascinated by Starscream In Charge. I am also very sad that Windblade apparently did die.
Yes, I'm disappointed in the Lug reveal. It would have been nice to have lady lovers too.
But, yes, Drift, tell me exactly what you would do to someone if they hurt your dearest Rodimus...
Besides letting Ratchet save his bum.
For some reason, I was more into this issue. Let this keep up! (Or maybe the bad pun helped...)
The art is still stunning, and there are some interesting elements, but this one pushed it with the material. There were things that we didn't need to see.
Interesting things happening to Megatron. Still and all, on a completely shallow level, there was no OTP in this. Boo!
Airachnid continues to be smokin', Starscream continues to be himself and smokin' and getting in a tiff with Bee, and Windblade is fighting to regain control of her mind. And Starscream might have to risk himself to help her? Ahhh, why is there only one more issue?!
Ah, no OTP in this one. However, we get an outing with some of the ladies, which is exciting. Anode and Lug get in trouble numerous times. Velocity and Nautica are on the hunt for maybe a map to Cyberutopia, but Nautica has ulterior, Skids-related motives. AND AND AND, we learn that not only are Anode and Lug a couple, but they also casually inform Wipe-Out that they are transgender Transformers. Yay for an outing with the ladies!
The greatest cover. I've sort of been into Windscream (Starblade?), covertly, but that cover did it for me. My partner doesn't read TF, and even she liked it.
But I digress. I am very sad this was the last issue. There are things left unresolved that I can only hope someone will continue (CHROMIA!!), but I enjoyed the feels and Windblade's empowerment moment. And Starscream's face when she gets up and leaves at the end.
This isn't much of a review so much as it is a realization of excitement over OTP#2. Sorry.
My friend put this on my pull list. I have no background in ROM, so I was momentarily befuddled. But I feel as though this flows better (for me) than Optimus Prime. I enjoyed it, and I adored Stardrive. And any time Ultra Magnus shows up being BAMF, I'm down with. So, what a pleasant surprise!
Titillating trash. I once read a review that called this series entertaining but reprehensible. Yep, that probably covers it.
Honestly, I am not super into this title. It's very plot-heavy, and the last two issues I've found rather tedious.
Good God's, horrible things are afoot on the Lost Light with the increasingly awful Getaway in charge.
3.5 stars–I was really hoping for Getaway to die, but the drama continues. He's horrible. Things also got a little confusing toward the end.
All the feelings, you lot. So many of them.
Yay, Windblade!
The end of the series, culminating in an election between Starscream, Windblade, and Elita. Windblade will put up with no more BS. Starscream has become a person of substance. Elita is hot but terrifying. And there's a joke about Windy proposing to Starscream (I approve of this). What a bloody delight.
You know how sometimes you just want to read smut? Yeah, well, I'm still pretty green at this. And this short story was...was...so very badly written that it was laughable. The sex wasn't that interesting or daring. At least, it was about ladies, but it should be honest and say it's not just homosexual. There's quite a bit of het going on too.
Well, that was a thing I read.
