One of the best graphic novels I've read. I loved the emotion of this story, the art was beautiful, and the characters were wonderful. I finished and just wanted more.
This is my first exposure to Deadpool, and it took me a while to get my barrings with this comic. By the end I fully enjoyed it. It was funny and weird, and I loved that it took a surprisingly emotional turn at the end. I am definitely coming back for more.
One of the best in the series so far. It breaks all the trends and goes a very different direction! Bravo.
I am incoherent with how happy this book made me! This was the perfect follow up and it filled me with soooo much excitement for the whole series! If I write more it will end up as spoilery babble of fangirling, so I will stop there and just say, read this series! Do it! This one was even better than the first, which was wonderful.
I love Grant Morrisons batman, and I adore the intro to all the new batpeople! Damien has also really grown on me
This book was incredible. I listened to the audiobook on my commute and I can fully recommend it. I really ran across this by accident and had no idea it was going to be an instant favorite. It is easily in my top 5 books now. It is a beautiful depiction of the psychology of anxiety, group therapy, and families. It was hard to ever put down. Absolutely loved and fully fully recommend. Go read it. Go read it now.
No Spoiler Review:
Nope. Just nope.
I found this sequel very frustrating. The pacing was slow. I can't believe how little was accomplished. I wanted to know how the series ends but I find it very unlikely I will finish the books now. The frustration is real.
Spoilery Review: Beware:
I can't believe only 2 girls got eliminated in this book. Only 2? Are you kidding? We still have the selection going? Seriously? America acted like an idiot, but she finally got around to seeming to care about something but she was completely stupid about how she did it. Maxon went from the amazing romantic lead of the first to a complete idiot with how he treated her. Let me constantly keep secrets and tell lies but expect you to trust me. And Aspen.
Aspen!
I just can't.
I cannot overstate how much joy this graphic novel fills me with. It is perfection itself. It is funny, empowering, and sweet all wrapped up in a delightful package. I read it, and then went back to reread my favorite parts, and then shared those parts with everyone who would listen. It is the kind of story that my mind returns to over and over and over. I love it. I want to read it at least 10 more times. This one is perfect for all ages, and all people. Everyone should read it. Do it now.
What a fantastic book! I loved the characters. All of them felt fully realized. I love the effort of both populating this world and yet keeping it focused on the person t person drama. It made me cry multiple times. I also really appreciated her exploration of YA tropes and turning them around, like the idea in so many YA books that the lead male character can be a jerk as long as he's damaged with a heart of gold, and the frank exploration of body autonomy. Honestly this book had so much depth and the writing was gorgeous. Fully recommend
This book was incredible. It made me want to grab my friends and cook for them, or go find some new food served out, and share stories. It made me want to bake and host. It was like a culinary call to action.
This book is truly amazing. It has that beautiful lyrical style of writing which makes the lines completely fun to say out loud. The characters are deep and well developed. You know and love all of the dysfunctional cast before long. I love that it constantly adds pieces to help lead you toward the answer to the big mysteries of the story. I won't spoil. It is definitely worth reading if you are up to a cry your eyes out novel. This was one book that literally (and I mean literally) made me sob. (I was on a busy plane no less, attempting not to cry out loud and wake my row-mates). Despite that, I wouldn't call it a tragedy. Not exactly. I would place it more solidly in the The Fault in Our Stars area. It will hurt you, but in a meaningful way. It was very very painful. Read with caution, but it is definitely worth the time.
This book instantly rocketed into my top favorites. It had me start to finish. I cared do much about every character and every storyline. The pacing was flawless and I am smitten with the magic system. It also fid a great job with normalizing diverse people. It wasn't perfect in that regard, but it was really quite good. This is one of my all time favorite novels!
I am so impressed with Lauren Graham's debut novel! I listened to the audiobook, which she narrated which I fully recommend listening to. This one drew me in immediately and kept me devouring it throughout. I have read a lot of difficult books lately, and this was a welcome relief. It was a literary warm blanket, safe and snug and so comforting. I loved the characters. They felt real. I loved this.
Edit:
I was talking to someone about this book and realized I had to add this. I have anxiety, and as a person with genuine anxiety, this book is the perfect depiction of how an anxious mind works. I loved it. It was sympathetic, well done, and humorous in just the right way. Bravo, Lauren Graham.
This story was unique and wonderful. I felt giddy the whole time. It made me laugh and feel warm. I loved each level of story. First, the story of the fangirl herself, then the Simon Snow canon story that she loved, and then the fanfiction she wrote. So well woven together. It took me back to my teenage obsession with fanfic writing. I'm excited that the story within this story is going to be it's own book in October! Can't wait for Carry On.
Overall, I just loved this book so much. It is by far the lightest of all Rowell's novels, and I truly enjoyed it. I also love how Rowell ends her books. Nothing is ever a nice neat bow at the end, and I love that about her.
Now go. Read it.
People have been telling me to read this since I started reading comics and I ignored them. Shame on me. This comic was hilarious and clever. The visuals enhanced the characters in truly meaningful ways. I am definitely going to read on
Faith Erin Hicks brings me such joy. This is one of her best graphic novels. The story was so fun!
I am so here for this Jane Austen style urban fantasy series! It was incredibly well done in the Regency style and the fantasy aspects were a blast. The characters were flawless and she did such a good job with the tension between the expectations of society at that time and the necessities of the paranormal experiences around them. Love love love
This is one of the most fun fantasy books I have ever read. Great for young readers and lovers of fairy tales. The magic system alone is worth the read and the characters are delightful
This book was beautiful, horrifying, comforting, and insightful. Beautiful: the style flowed like an Irish folk song, each page felt lyrical. Horrifying: it wasn't scary in the way most horror is. Nothing was particularly scary in its on right. It was the fact that the novel reaches into deep childhood fears and the psyche of a kid to make you scared of things in the same helpless way a child would be. Seriously creeped out on multiple occasions. Comforting: the family on the farm was the definition of a safe haven. I felt comforted by its presence. Insightful: it had deep commentary on the lust of money and on the nature of adulthood and childhood. Adults afterall, are children in adult costumes. So well said.
I loved this novel. Beautiful short read.

I was nervous and excited to see how Hodkin would wrap up this amazing trilogy. This series is like nothing else I've ever read. It is horrifying and poetic, but also a perfect romance. The ending, without giving anything away, was exactly the ending the story needed. It surprised me how much I loved it. It is hard for me to explain more without giving it away. I will say, each character is deepened and filled with personality until you feel like you know them personally. I fully approve.
The read overall was more painful in some ways than the previous two. There were a few things in the book I could have done without, but overall a strong conclusion.
If you loved the series, you will not be disappointed.
****Spoiler review******
It has been a while since I read the last book, and in the gap I forgot how much these books mess with your head. This one does so less than previous, but there are still plenty of “What just happened?” moments which I really love about the trilogy.
The most notable flaw I think was the double not real death scenes from Noah and Mara both. One was fine, but both felt...well I was with Jamie on this one. What even?
In general though, the story went such interesting directions. I adored the reveals about Lukumi and Mara's grandmother. I loved how Jamie becomes more flesh and blood. And I've always adored Daniel, so seeing him become a real main character was perfect.
And the ending. The way the story tied back to the first novel, and ultimately it was not about saving the world, or understanding the horror, it was always a love story. That was perfect.
