One of the best series of books I have read. I love the setting, but the WH40K books are hit or miss. If there ever was a universe that needs Cain's humor it's this one. Enjoyable by even those not a fan of the setting.

Fantastic light read with likeable characters. A sci fi take on the Master & Commander series of books as well as other inspirational source material such as Star Trek, Hornblower, and Star Wars.

Pretty so so compared to other Kemp offerings. Fafhrd and Gray Mouser far superior; this series gets compared to Leiber in a number of venues.Dialog between characters seemed forced and mixed. There were moments the book grabbed me, but few and far between.

Great story, with a continuation of the overarching storyline. Interesting take on the buddy cop/agents trope. Fun, fast read, the author doesn't try to make the book anything other than what it is - a summer blockbuster movie style novel. Worth your time and money.

Good book, picked up the sequel both in Kindle and audio.

Stackpole is hit or miss with me. This book was a home run. I enjoyed it from start to finish and am surprised he hasn't fleshed this universe out with more books. Great character development and cool fantasy universe.

Decent book, narration was good. The sound effects are an added touch. More of a book for an avid Star Wars fan than just a good “read”.

Great book. A science fiction version of Horatio Hornblower. Good characters, excellent setting, and fast paced. A coming of age story coupled with a sprinkling of mystery, first contact, and a dash of romance.

Enjoyable spin on one of history's favorite and intriguing characters. It's a snowy weekend book that you'll enjoy as you read, but could have been much more.

Great book and fun read. Nice spin of the vampire yarn. James Bond meets Dracula.
