Loved the writing in this!!! It seemed to flow so nicely for me. It's Mexican, it's Gothic, creepy, brooding, not always sure you are going to be safe in the dark...was just my cup of tea
3.5 - quick easy listen... was it impactful ? Ehhh, might be stretching it. Was it a good story? Yes, the narrator was an actual character herself so it framed the story really well. Were the characters good? For the most part yes. I didn't think Billie and Daisy had as much chemistry as we were led to believe but I'm glad they were able to work their ish out without regretting anything. Camilla shined most for me if I'm completely honest
3.5 - listened to the audio book and some chapters felt dragged out (probably due to the character driven writing or the narrator not sure), the suspense wasn't really till the end and the psychological aspects were interesting but not that impactful.
3.8 - very good and face paced read! I'd recommend this to a younger audience who is looking for their purpose and “best self”, however, being and adult in my late 20's I still had a few things to take away from this book. And I'm not made about it!
3.7 (rounded up to 4) - very enjoyable, quick read! I want to read/listen to another book of hers (not available on Audible yet) so I glad I got to squeeze this one in!
Not as impactful as the first book in the series however Dot Hutchison's writing is really great and so easy to read/listen to. I did listen to the audiobook for this one and read the first two on kindle in the past but i still enjoyed the story and characters
4.25 ! So glad I finally read this !!! Solid story telling and complex characters. I can tell why this this is loved by so many readers!
4.2 ! Really enjoyed this story and the audio. I'm not too into Shakespeare so I couldn't relate much in that regard but overall I enjoyed the theme. Very nice addition to a spooky read in October ^-^
4.2 - really enjoyed this story! The atmosphere, the characters, the plot is where the points are knocked off. The ending seemed a bit rushed but I liked what happened. I very much would like to physically read it but I recommend the audiobook. The narrator nailed all the characters and background characters
3.8 - I enjoyed this really because I resonated with the characters so much specifially with what Lauren was going through as far as her mindset of how a relationship and marriage should be. There were times where I just rolled my eyes though, like, really girl, come on (but i cried too) lol
