Gory. Supernatural. Secret societies. Oh my. This was a interesting read. I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I was hooked midway in. It goes to show never judge a book by it cover.
This storyline is too good. I am sad, I have to wait until 2016 for the next installment.
Great job, Kresley!!
I just finished reading it and .... I really enjoyed this book. At first, I did not think I would, but, as the saying goes, “Never judge a book by its cover.” This group of friends made me nostalgic. I wished I had friends like this in HS.
Great job, Morgan Matson. I am inspired to work on a yearly bucket list.
This was a nice light read. I like the play on a Christmas Carol. From all the raving, I expected more from this novel.
Cliffhanger! ! I cnnot wait to read the next installation. I want to see Paige come into her powers. She is going to be a force to be reckoned wih.
I still don't know, how I feel about this story. Pretty good story line. However, I cannot get over, Rachel's decision to let John Paul off the hook. It was such a build up to be let down. I understand the situation surrounding Rachel decision, but come on. She was ready to burn Connor at the stake. That left me feeling, unsettled in a sense. However, the other characters storyline was okay.
This book was slow going for me in the beginning. However, I fell in love with the story towards the end. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
OMG. This book was really good. I will come back and fills this in. On to the next book, in the series.
Fangirl is the winner for me. I was totally immersed in the characters. Excellent story. I felt the characters were well developed, outside of the mom (understandable). This book for me was so much better than Landline. Now, I see why Rowell has such hardcore fans. Kudos
"And didn't it always go like that -- body parts not quite lining up the way you wanted them to, all of it a little bit off, as if the world itself were an animated sequence of longing and envy and self hatred and grandiosity and failure and success, a strange and endless cartoon loop that you couldn't stop watching, because, despite all you knew by now, it was still so interesting."
Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I started reading this book and around page 150, I put it down and decided to read another book. I am very happy that I picked this book back up. This book left me with no questions. It was all answered throughout the book, except did any of the friends receive any money. However, I think that was more of my psychology that I was bringing to the book. This book is going down as one of my favorites.
2.5 stars - Getting through this book was arduous, at times, and not in a good way.
There were some good parts to this story, but overall, heavily overshadowed by the pontification of the protagonist.
Side Note: I am not sure, I will get through Ducks, Newburyport - if it is anything like this.
Eleanor & Park was a good read. i enjoyed the story. It brought back memories of my HS love. I had to deal with some of the same issues, Eleanor faced. Eventhough, I enjoyed the story, the ending seemed rushed and not complete. It left me unsatisfied.
I learned to reevaluate and appreciate what makes me different from everyone else. Essentially my differences is what makes me unique. Trying to fit in to a model that society has created will only make you crazy or feel less than.
I truly enjoyed this book. In love sometimes, we fall into the monotony of life and the person we love the most then becomes a stranger. This book is about a man's journey to gain back his Zahir(love/obsession). However, because of this love he rediscovers himself.
Here is a quote from the book that will say with me forever. “That is why it is so important to let certain things go. To release them. To cut loose. People need to understand that no one is playing with marked cards; sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Don't expect recognition for your efforts, don't expect your genius to be discovered or your love to be understood. Complete the circle. Not out of pride, inability, or arrogrance, but simply because whatever it is no longer fits in your life. Close the door, change the record, clean the house, get rid of the dust. Stop being who you were and become who you are.”
