AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THAT HURT SO FUCKING MUCH OH MY GODS!!!!!!!!!! This was BEAUTIFULLY written first of all!!!!!!! This entire series after the first book reads like a tragedy, because it's so obvious that the series couldn't end without Rin's death, but it's written in such a way that even knowing how it was going to end, it was still DEVASTATING!!!!!!!!! The BETRAYALS, the PARANOIA, the fact that Rin basically FORCED Nezha to kill her!!!!!!!!!!! I am not going to be ok I am going to be thinking about this for a VERY long time!!!!!!!!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend just be prepared to be ruined!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT??? OH MY GODS!!!!!!!!!! That was!!!!!!! SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I can coherently articulate how I feel about this other than that was SO OUCHIE!!!!!!!!!!!! This is Literally a tragedy (or at least it was to me) because I could see all of the bad things coming, I knew they were going to happen and that those choices were going to be made, I just had foolishly hoped that I was wrong!!!!!!! But I sure wasn't wrong!!!!!!!! HIGHLY recommend though!!!!!!! Just be prepared to be burned!!!!!!!!!!
This was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!! The writing was Beautifully fast paced but not too fast!!!!!!! The banter between the characters was my FAVORITE!!!!!!! And I grew so SO attached to the characters in such a short time!!!!!!! Also the whole concept was just So original that it hooked me Instantly!!!!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can Barely articulate how this made me feel even after sleeping on it!!!!!!!!!!! This entire series made me feel seen in a way that I didn't think was possible, and that was SUCH a WONDERFUL conclusion!!!!!!!! Though I have heard VanderMeer is going to come out with a fourth book, and I sure hope he does!!!!!!!! This series feels like coming home and finishing this book and ending the series feels so painful!!!!!!! I am experiencing the Full Range of human emotions and then some about this series!!!!!!!!! HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!!!!!
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! It took me while to get into, but once I did, I was Hooked and didn't want it to end (hence why it's taken me over a month to read, that and school lmao)!!!!!!!!! I have too many feelings that are inexorable to articulate, but this series and the way it was written feels So so familiar and comfortable to me!!!!!!!!!!
HOLY SHIT????? I think this broke my brain a little, but like in a good way!!!!!! This was SO well written, with Such good descent into madness And unreliable narrator elements!!!!!!! I don't wanna say too much about it because this is the kind of book that is Definitely better to know less about it when starting it!!!!!! HIGHLY recommend though!!!!!!
This was FANTASTIC!!! I didn't think I would like it more than the other Lydia Kang book I've read, Toxic, but it surpassed all my expectations!!!!!! I LOVED Tillie as a character and grew so very attached to her!!!!!!! This was absolutely Delightful!!!!! And That ending was definitely a shock!!!!!!!
Who Boy that was Bad. I mean like Seriously bad. There's a Lot to unpack here honestly, from the way it sexualized the 16 year old main character, to the way it slut shammed a character in the Next Chapter, to the Blatant Terf ideology (you know, all or at least most men are evil monsters, the only women who are powerful are the ones who can have periods, ect), to the weird almost fetishizing way periods were talked about, it was Bad. This definitely shouldn't be marked as YA either, considering how graphic the sex scenes are. I skipped a Lot of this book because it was That bad. Even skipping, I could keep up with the whole plot, the writing was also that slow. Also, changing writing styles in the middle of the book and then going back yo your original style of writing only works if you're a good writer. Which was Decidedly not the case here. This is only a “feminist” retelling if your feminism is only about abled cis-women, and if it is, that's not real feminism. I'm black listing this author for sure, as I don't want to even try to read anymore of her books.
