I just love Deadpool, the antics that are so random. I did find the Norse god's dialogue hard to read, I still enjoyed the story. It's a great way of showing the main lessons of the Art of War in a Marvel graphic novel.
Why was she naked? Why was the bear there? Could there have been a personality?
For me, this is 1.5 stars because I wanted to DNF, but I was just so confused that I needed to know if there would be an explanation.
DNF @ page 125.
I just felt I was reading the thoughts of a very self-involved woman that I just didn't care about. I wish we would go deeper into the accounts of the boyfriend because that was the only interesting thing to me, but no.
I really looked forward to this book for a long time and it definitely did not disappoint.
I really liked the Murderbot character and their sarcastic manners. Also the relationships that were created that weren't expected were nice.
4.5 stars
I really liked how the sea creatures/concepts were related to the journey of self discovery of a queer woman. The refreshing layout made you think about how everything in the chapter worked together, and with that also how you relate to these concepts. I haven't read Dutch literature since high school and this was a refreshing start back into the world.
read this at a time that the fiction almost perfectly matched reality which gave me a weird sense of support.
I'm kinda sad This book didn't grip me. But I just found myself skipping pages. I do think this book discusses a lot of important topics and would be a definite favourite for people who can connect with the writing style.
2021 Review:
This book was nothing and everything like I expected. But it surely was what I wanted it to be.
2023 Review:
So I read this as a buddy read and having read it before I was ready with all my annotation supplies. Well I think I went a little crazy trying to analyse this story, I truly felt like a conspiracy theorist.
The book lets you think you understand at least some part of it and then throws you for another loop.
If I described this book in three words, those would be:
- Desire
- Loneliness
- Spellbinding
These all come through in and from the main character, Samantha.
Very interesting writing style. Made reading very entertaining. Also had great insights.
4.5⭐
This was such an immaculate story.
I myself had seen the first 1.5 seasons of the show and still the story was as gripping as it would be if I hadn't
I just wanna read more. This plot is so confusing but also interesting, because the keep you in the dark with the characters.
3.5
Loved the discussions about relationships, with yourself, your friends and family, a partner and your community.
Give me a second to pull myself together ...
Oke, Tracy Deonn you are a poet! The way I want to remember every quote and the way these characters made me feel I have not felt many a time.
When I say that, this book kept surprising me in so many ways. I did not think I would feel so much, so many times, and you are now one of my favourite authors.
Experiencing this world through Bree's eyes is just such a vivid experience that I felt everything she did. The bonds she forms with her companions, but also her heritages, were made so beautifully and build upon Legendborn perfectly.
I cannot wait to read EVERY BOOK Tracy Deonn writes, because I know every single one of them will move me in some kind of way.
