It wasn't for me, I don't think it was bad per se, more like I was expecting it to be amazing from all the reviews I saw and I just didn't get in to it. Maybe I should've started from the first book but I didn't enjoy the writing style and some themes in it, so I don't necessarily think that would've helped.
If you enjoy the tropes of MC contemporary romances: close found family, over protectiveness, some dom kink, that kind of feel, then you'd probably enjoy this.
I started this because a book further down in the series sounded interesting and I thought I'd wouldn't mind trying the others in order.
I loved this when I first read this several years ago, I will say I didn't enjoy it as much as I once did
Cartoon-ish antagonists, a ‘not like other girls' heroine, and a male protagonist that has relationship issues because of his parents.
Boy, does this book exemplify why I dislike contemporary romance so much...
The constant pop culture references, the third act breakup being incredibly dumb, characters being so unlikable because it's the only why to cause conflict.
The writing was jaunty and fun, the plot while unlikely wasn't completely unbelievable, and whilst short, the romance didn't feel like insta-love, but the sisters are a level of unlikable that I almost stopped reading. They're so petty and childish, even Nikki the FMC, that I didn't even care when Diego and her reunited.
I liked this far more than I thought I would. It didn't have the ‘I can't put this down' quality that would've made it a 5 star but I found it to be decently paced and the characters actions believable.
A popcorn read, that hit a lot of storyline tropes that I like.
just at a 4 star read for me. Was so much better than other books I've been reading so I feel like I might be overestimating just how much I liked it. At least this had a plot and character development so 3 stars just for that honestly.
