A liked that Ibram X. Kendi emphasized that changing policies from racist to anti-racist allows for people to viscerally understand the benefits and in turn be more open-minded to changing their anti-racist beliefs.
Really epic story. I found myself audibly gasping, laughing, and cringing while reading this book. How much ice, wind, and nearly freezing water can these guys handle? Turns out... quite a bit.
I really enjoyed the majority of the essays. Some seemed to pick and choose pop culture references to make a point, which is fine but doesn't convince me of much. Some relied on pop culture references that I am not familiar with, so they weren't very relatable for me. I liked her writing style but it didn't blow me away in this collection.
Compelling characters, beautifully written story, and fascinating science behind forests. Heartbreaking and very motivating.
Good for what it is. Solid YA fantasy. Took me away to another world. Very vivid and beautiful. The romance subplots where very meh and I could do without them.
Really engaging history of San Francisco in the late 60s, 70s, and some of the 80s. I skipped the two chapters about football because I just don't. Total page turner, I learned a ton.
Written in a really fun style. The history of how Hawaii became a state is really fascinating. Between the missionaries and whalers, and their descendants the capitalists, it is fascinating all around.
I really do not enjoy Kundera's writing style. I couldn't finish reading it. Boredom to the max.
Good advice for keeping track of all of the things, long term and short, and getting things done.
