I don't know what to think about it.
I believe the whole “conflict” part, it seems real to me, it touched me.
That's why the HEA seems forced. After 20 chapters of angst the happy ending is resolved in 10 pages.
Still Mariano's writing, her intelligence, t character development (Willow is fantastic) were worth the journey through this story.

I think H's lack of personality is the main problem for me. We don't know much about him.
Although the h's story does interest me, overall it bores me.

the last 50 pages do not add anything.
In just a few pages, and only by describing a sexual encounter, she achieves something that others after 250 pages only sketch out.
This is my first Ivy Davis book, but it won't be my last.
Posessive Vows is the story of Pia, the young daughter of a big mob boss, traumatized at a very young age by witnessing a terrible scene. Mute by the trauma, she is locked up in a tower, away from everyone and grows up with the hope of being free one day. That day comes thanks to Dario, another mafia boss, who plans her kidnapping and subsequent wedding, in order to gain more power.
That is the beginning of a story of great sexual attraction first, and love later between the characters.
I love Pia's evolution, her shyness and her courage, the honesty of her feelings towards Dario. And the great sexual chemistry, that little by little growing intimacy in the relationship?
I liked it a lot. Highly recommended.

Heartless Vows is the third installment in the Santoro series. It is the story of Serafina, the most temperamental of the sisters, and Enzo, the big boss of the Mafia in Rome. A marriage arranged for the benefit of the business and which will leave Serafina with no freedom of movement. The novel is a tug of war between the couple. The power struggle, the incredible sexual attraction, and the protagonist's constant need for spanking.
I love Serafina, her desire to fight for a different destiny, her insecurities only hinted at (I miss that this part of the character will not be developed).
Other parts I don't understand ( the H's need for spanking the maid?!?).

Nothing is what it seems
This is the story of Sophie and Luca.
As the daughter of a Miami mob boss, Sophie knows her obligations and the life that awaits her as the future wife of another mobster. But her dream is to become a designer, and that is the reason that takes her to a party of her most admired designer. At that party she will meet a handsome man, Luca, and her life will never be the same again.
The protagonists, despite their age (23 h and 39 H) are a couple of spoiled and immature. He borders on psychopathy and has six-year-old tantrums. The sexual scenes have no chemistry between the main characters.
I had a hard time finishing the book.

The novel begins with an impressive description of the protagonist's personality, but then all that takes a back seat.
Hot scenes between the main characters and a happy ending, what more could you ask for?
However, I can't connect with the author's narrative style.
Too baroque and poetic for my taste.

Willa, orphaned and raised from foster family to foster family, works in a private club where mob men enjoy themselves away from the eyes of the people. Faced with the attempted rape of a co-worker Willa comes to her defense and wounds the attacker. Now she will have to flee for her life.
This is a story full of action and tension. Willa is brave and determined. I love her fearless way of facing life and the bad situations it brings. But throughout the novel, all the suffering, the torture scenes, the pain page after page of the protagonist left me exhausted, even having to stop reading to get some air. Throughout the novel there is very little relief to Willa's suffering, that along with little or no explained twists of the story made me lose some interest in reading.
All in all, this is a tough and fast-paced novel.

This is the story of Adelina, one of the Santoro sisters, and Matteo, leader of the local MC.
I have to say that sooner Matteo made me fall for him. All that bickering with Adelina to get her to open up to him...
But he soon proved himself underserving of Adelina because yes, she is a snob and a spoiled child who doesn't know what she wants though he, as a grown man should know how to keep his word (and incidentally the penis in his pants) Dude? On your wedding night?
Not only that, but after his wife's assault he decides not to sack the vicious man who committed the crime under the excuse of being short of men.
And later, instead of assuming responsibility and telling the truth about everything that happened to his brother-in-law, he decides to keep quiet for the business's good.
A gem of a guy.
The book reads in one sitting and has a HEA.
This is the first work I've read by the author, and frankly, I had a hard time finishing it. It starts out as a small town romance, with an age difference between the main characters. Everything is quite boring, like a Sunday afternoon TV movie...and suddenly, almost at the end of the novel, all that clean romance turns into a “spicy” scene in a hospital?!
I didn't like it at all, sorry.

Lana is a mystery. Estranged from family and friends, she runs away from all relationships and lives between her job at a bank and her other job as a waitress in an Irish pub. Hunter is a regular customer at the pub, and now also at her bank where Lana discovers that he is about to lose his house for non-payment. Fantasizing about having a sexual encounter with Hunter is one thing, but turning fantasy into reality?
Great story with an exceptional protagonist. I adore Lana, her drive and bravery. This was my first Darcy Dawes novel and it was quite a discovery. The depth of the characters, the way of narrating...I loved it.

Who is this author and where has she been hiding all this time? And most of all, how come I hadn't read anything of hers!!!!!
