DNF audiobook....OK plot, pace lagged

Way to sloooooooow for me.

This book felt like it was too long but the humorous writing style kept me reading.

I enjoyed this book because of the way the author presents a familiar story. I was most intrigued by how she constructed the plot, presenting the elements through shifts in time and characters awareness. This surprised me as I usually like a faster pace.

Rating is actually 3.5. it's vintage Sandford which is a good thing for plotting but somehow it felt lifeless. I've read them all and know these books are procedurals but l missed the tension and danger of other books.

Enjoyable quick read.

I must have a blind spot for plucky girls and slowly moving plots.

A 250 page story stretched over 500 pages. It was ok so I just plodded along.

More literary character development than mystery. Well written but drags a bit in the middle.

I'll read anything by Harlan Coben; his plots are well constructed. However the characters in this book are familiar types and I didn't feel drawn to any of them.

Wonderful story telling about a historical period of wrenching change. Excellent narration.

Well researched and clearly written progressive book.

Lee Child can move a plot. Because I'm not a fan of the fantasy genre I skim read this one.

I'm not as enthused about this book as most reviewers. The story arc has promise but the telling slogged with lots of repetition in the middle. I was able to skim several pages at a time without loosing any of the plot, especially sections of courtroom narrative.

Initially I was hesitant about the professional killer/courageous teen pairing but the plot was interesting and well paced. A good 1 day read.

This was an “ok” read for me although I'm in her age cohort & have read her for years - and that captures what disappointed me. I felt like I've read this before.

Interesting plot and psychological study. While i liked the unpredictability, I did feel a bit whiplashed about 2/3 of the way through.

I wanted to like it because the premise was unique but the story bobbed instead of flowed. I skipped the middle when my patience ran out.

Such a well written, fair account of the lives of two intertwined people.

Actually 3.5 stars. I'm just a SW fan and enjoy the psychological aspects of his writing.

4 stars for quality of the writing & authenticity, 3 stars for the premise. Good weekend read.

Good pacing with enough twists to familiar plot to keep it interesting.

Authentic and well written remembrances that display rather than explain a life of resiliance.

Great first thriller. The original crime plot is interesting in itself but when it goes bad for the perpetrators the story unfolds in interesting ways. Looking forward to future books.
