Spoilers!

Zombies, chewing off one's own hand, murderous relatives, treachery, slavers, and wiping out much of the cast of characters in order to introduce new icky ones does not make a book I like. I will not be reading the sequel.

It just wasn't for the way I “really cook.”

Okay, I have to admit that I didn't actually read the whole thing. I got past the blood-grown tiger-man & decided it wasn't for me. I did cheat & read the ending, though....

Build up to huge ending.... crash. And then Get Out of Jail Free. So disappointing.

I also thought the sudden switch in love interest was lame.

I found this quite disturbing; so much so that I feel I must classify it as adult, not young adult, and will be forbidding my children from reading it despite their eagerness to do so.

The cook book's not bad, but I'm apparently too boring to get the most use out of it.

In the first book, she actually solved the mystery. In this one, she just sort of stumbled onto the solution, thanks to other people.

Okay, now I desperately want a sequel, set about 5-6 years in the future....

1 1/2 stars, due to language, cruelty, pranks, drinking, smoking, blackmail, & other unpleasantness.

NOT a sequel to Mistwood! Also considerably more creepy than I expected or enjoyed.

Reality strikes! Hitting your head hurts, death can be ugly, dirt is messy, and injuries take time to heal. ... What a breath of fresh air!

It should have been stupid, but the sibling bond pulled it off.

Covers every chapter of Isaiah in summary, with application & thoughts to ponder. Not as good at teaching tools to apply generally.
