ETA: We finished the audiobook this weekend. I think that it was a really great book. The characters really drew me in and I love a good story with multiple (likeable) characters to follow. It starts strong and keeps going throughout the novel.
We're listening to this on audiobook and it's awesome. The stories in the book really draw you in. Attention-keeper.
WONDERFUL book. Not in the least disrespectful in my eyes (and I am a Christian who can be sensitive to that kind of thing at times), although of course it is fiction, just as the author himself emphasizes. I would really suggest this to everyone. The afterword was the icing on the cake to me when finishing this book.
I really enjoyed this book, much more than I thought I would. Most people probably wouldn't expect that I'm a wrestling fan, but I have been since about 8th grade. Yes, I know it's “fake” but I find it comical and like the big characters that are created in wrestling.
This books tells a lot about the “behind the scenes” action that takes place in wrestling. It also talks a lot about what was needed to make the WCW such a big wrestling fan. I'm always interested in marketing and promotion, so this was an added bonus for me. It's an easy read, but one that kept me entertained.
It does assume that you know a fair amount about the WCW and WWE, so if you don't watch wrestling, it's probably not for you.
A co-worker leant me this book when they found out that I was majoring in advertising. It is by Donny Deutsch, who was the president of one of America's largest advertising agencies. While it's more of a “self help” type book, it also has a lot of personal stories tied in.
Although I can't stand his personality on tv (or in the book either really), I found the book interesting and took more away from it about life than I thought I would.
Uggg... tried this for a second time and just couldn't do it. Looks like I won't be continuing the Sookie series.
As much as I love Lynsay Sands' vampire books, I just can't get into the historical ones. Attempted to read the copy I got from the library, but it just wasn't working for me.
