Another wonderful book in the Argeneau series. Lucian and Leigh are wonderful characters and watching their relationship develop is a lot of fun.
WONDERFUL book full of so many resources! Would suggest to anyone starting their own business.
I really find the characters in the story charming, from Kate to her son to her best friend. Love hearing about their adventures. Great listen on the way into work.
My favorite Goldy mystery that I've listened to so far. Great plot and really kept me guessing. I love the core characters of these mysteries.
Loved it. Four's by far my favorite of the series and it's refreshing to hear the story from his reasonable point of view. Would love to read more!
I'm not sure I'm the target audience for this book, but I did enjoy it. While I found some of the research pieces dry, the stories in the book were very inspiring. It was helpful to read while I was decluttering our home.
Not my favorite Goldy book. I wasn't much for the plot and ending was... far out there even for me. Arch was charming in this book, however.
Still charmed by the characters and feel of the books. It's fun to read some of the earlier books after reading some of the later in the series. Ties it all together.
These are fun mysteries to listen to, even if I do find it challenging to follow the character names sometimes. It's neat to meet different characters in these stories and have visits from others who are steady characters.
This book started out slow. I think I felt that way because I don't understand why the factions really formed. How that would seem beneficial to a society. And I thought Tris's choice to join Dauntless seemed rash and didn't make sense to me either. But the rest of the book was good and the ending was great. Loved the romance in the book. It felt real, so much more than any other teen book I've read lately, and for once there was no love triangle! I am a big fan of that. I liked Tris too. She was stupid at times but overall a good heroine.
I'm counting this as read although I had a disc and a half left when I had to return it to the library. I ended up reading spoilers online. I'm not a huge fan of books where I don't have the slightest hint or clue why the character is doing anything. I though this book was eh, and like always, had almost no likeable characters.
I picked up this book after reading The Shop on Blossom Street, to see if I just really liked the author or just that series. It really wasn't my type of book. While there were somewhat interesting plots, I had a really hard time keeping track of the characters and their involvement in the stories. Most of the stories reminded me of Lifetime movies and soap operas. I can handle that type of story if there's something else keeping me involved, but this didn't really have that for me. I don't plan on reading the rest of this series.
If I hadn't read the other two Blossom Street books and a couple of her other books I might have liked this one more. But I'm tired of seeing the same women in the same plots with the same solutions.
This was a really good and fast read. The story was well written and kept a great pace. Would love to know what the “rest of the story” is!
And...I did totally see the similarities between Matched and The Giver in the beginning, but as the story began to take shape it fell away for me. Both were great reads.
For me, this book was anticlimactic and boring without any likable characters. Didn't enjoy this book at all.
Some great points to think about. Great insight why it's important to figure out what you stand for and stick to it.
I really enjoyed this book, much more than I thought I would. Most people probably wouldn't expect that I'm a wrestling fan, but I have been since about 8th grade. Yes, I know it's “fake” but I find it comical and like the big characters that are created in wrestling.
This books tells a lot about the “behind the scenes” action that takes place in wrestling. It also talks a lot about what was needed to make the WCW such a big wrestling fan. I'm always interested in marketing and promotion, so this was an added bonus for me. It's an easy read, but one that kept me entertained.
It does assume that you know a fair amount about the WCW and WWE, so if you don't watch wrestling, it's probably not for you.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a spunky and unexpected story. I loved the format of the book - the letters and documents really add a great dimension to the book. The format reminded me of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which is one of my favorite books.
I don't love the plot or characters in these books but I do think the recipes sound delicious!
I read this after reading one of the later books in the series and I liked this better. I felt like the characters were much more understandable in this earlier book. Not my favorite cozy mystery series, but an enjoyable listen. I especially like the recipes and descriptions of cooking. The recipes are real life recipes that I'm looking forward to trying in my own kitchen. Especially after hearing about so many cookies - I'm looking forward to having some!
Found this book at the Dollar Tree and really glad I picked it up. Sure, it's fluffy and Hannah is not so likable to me, but this was one of the better Hannah Swenson books I've read and I'm interested in trying many of the recipes in the book.
My favorite Harry Potter book so far in the series. So much going on to keep my interest. I did get quite tired of Harry's moping and stupidity about people for most of it, but it does seem very true to teenage form.
