I enjoyed this book even more than I thought I would. It was fun reading about Jared's story and I could relate to a lot of what he said, even though I'm just overweight, not morbidly obese. He says this isn't a diet book, and while I can see where it was going with the other ideas, it really seems to serve best to those of us who have struggled with our weight.
I enjoyed hearing this book read by him. It sounded like an old friend telling you about his life. My only complaint is the abrupt ending. I would've liked to hear more about his life after he came into show biz. Hopefully that book will be coming later.
Thought this was a fascinating memoir about Nancy's life. It's fascinating to look into another person's life, especially when it can be so different from anything you can imagine.
I'm a sucker for Dystopian literature, apparently. This was a good story and I looked forward to listening to more of the story each time I got in the car, even if there was a little too much relationship stuff in it for me. I don't understand why so many of these stories feel the need to have a “love” triangle. Just doesn't seem necessary. But overall a good story!
I don't know where to even start with these stories. It was a fun listen I suppose. Hard to not think that at the time this came out it must've been something like the equivalent of The Hills or The Real Housewives of Orange County these days. Rich young people who get their money from older relatives and find themselves lying to everyone in their lives to protect their lifestyle and thus getting themselves in all sorts of predicaments. Of which Jeeves always has a, usually humorous, solution for.
Listened to this book while working on a craft project. A delightful listen, like Betty is sitting down and telling you about her life. Her stories are charming and made me smile. I plan to listen and/or read some of her earlier books.
I wasn't sure about this book at first. It was very ABC Family, and not in the good way. But the second half of the book really got to the heart of the plot and made me care about the characters, which helped me see past the language. Much better than I expected at the start of the book and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
This book was eh. Of course, a horrifying and captivating story. But the way it was told made it seem more like a work of fiction to me. I don't read many True Crime books so I don't know if this is common of the genre. The writing reminded me a lot of a high school or college paper. A good one, don't get me wrong, but not what I expect of an author.
An odd little story. The only thing I liked much was the story of how it came to be.
Nice little short story but with sad overtones since I knew “the rest of the story”.
As much as I love Lynsay Sands' vampire books, I just can't get into the historical ones. Attempted to read the copy I got from the library, but it just wasn't working for me.
...I couldn't get into this book. I wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get into the styles and the stories. Seemed scattered to me.
I'm not sure I totally loved the style of writing, but the characters were comforting. I loved hearing the recipes, they almost all sounded like dishes I would try. It felt more like a recipe book with a plot, but I say that as a compliment. I enjoyed it. :)
The characters are charming and funny. The mystery and story involved and intriguing. I'm looking forward to reading more about Goldy and her friends and family. Most of the recipes sound yummy, but also too involved for me to make.
I really enjoyed this book, as I have all of the Argeneau books. This book really brought together many of the other plot lines that had lingered from past books and actually made me want to go back and read many of the past books I've read. I'm looking forward to reading more Argeneau books!
Great, inspirational story that helps you have faith in humanity again. Who wouldn't want to be a Fred?
This was a lovely, relaxing book. I loved the real life examples and the encouragement of finding out what is right in your life and living that way. The small chapters are perfect for this book.
I really enjoyed this book and the rehashing of Flylady's routines. Nothing life altering in here, but encouragement and smiles.
My hubby got me this book for Christmas and I had it read in two days. Another great addition to the Argeneau series. The characters are lovable as ever and, of course, many of the other characters come in to play with this novel as well. I was slightly disappointed with the ending. I don't mind being left hanging (much), but I like to know that the next book is going to answer my questions. This book didn't do that.
