This was a good book but was also frustrating. The first quarter was just introducing people and the setting. There were so many POV's that it was hard to keep track for awhile. The adults in the book were what was frustrating. Why would anyone ever feel okay with acting the way they did? I know it's just a book, but dang.
Easy to binge which is what I wanted - a bit of Colleen Hoover vibes but this actually well written.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book - I almost quit reading after the first chapter or so. Glad I kept reading
My first William Kent Krueger read and I'll definitely be looking for more of his to read. I really liked this.
I suppose this was well written but I didn't like it at all. I clocked the killer as soon as they were introduced. Lots unnecessary detailed descriptions... Also a huge CW for the whole book. I need to go find something happy to read now.
2.5
I liked the first 60ish% and was entertained but the rest was such a slog to get through. So much unnecessary stuff/details in here that it dragged on and on - very lackluster end. I agree with Kat - “that's it? That's all?”
I loved the first 60-70% of this book but then it felt like there could have (should have) been a stopping point long before. It was kind of one thing after another, dragging things out.
She wrapped it up very well, however after reading so many of Kristin Hannah's books, I saw the ending coming halfway through the book. Still a huge Kristin Hannah fan and this book was very good, but I think I like the others of hers that I've read more.
I don't know.. I really, really wanted to like this but it wasn't for me. Lots of good witty quotes in it though.
