Trigger Warnings: Suicide and death of a sister.
Keely is 17 and grieving her twin sister who was brutally murdered. She decides she cannot live without her and also feels like she was to blame for her sister Jordan's death.
After her death she finds out the afterlife is not all she thought it would be. A reaper and demon are there to guide her until her funeral when she will find out where she will go, heaven or hell. She wants to find her sister before then.
The book was very well fleshed out. Purgatory and the interactions of the dead on the living were believable. There was a satisfactory ending to the story that I was pleased with.
This was an excellent book! I like Dani being fleshed out even more and having a better look at her thoughts. I could not believe the ending. WTF is Mac doing with pointing a spear at Dani? What has got her all pissed off even more than usual?
This was a good anthology. The stories filled in on the background of the stories well. Plus the proceeds go to Breat Cancer Research.
This was a really good follow up to the previous book. It is light but well fleshed out.
Rachel Morgan is a witch but seems to be able to call demons. The demon Algaliarept is trying to kill her for sending him to prison. She has a vampire friend who wants to sleep with her. Pixies in her garden who guard her house. But she still gets in trouble with trying to save people. Especially her mom. She just wants to figure out how to keep everyone alive including herself.
Harry Dresden was dead but brought back to life by Mab the Winter Queen. He has to fight back the nature of being the Winter Knight and its base instincts. He finds he has to save his magical island and all of Chicago. He reconnects with his old allies and enemies in the process. I still love this series 14 books in and it still interests me. Poor Harry is always getting beat up and beat down. Of course I will only listen to it on audio book as I love it being read by James Marsters. He just seems to do the character justice.
Stephanie comes back from a trip to Hawaii early leaving both Ranger and Morrelli there with cuts and bruises and neither one too happy with Stephanie. She has a photograph put into her bag into the airport which every one seems to want. Plus Stephanie's usual antics trying to apprehend her bounties with Lulu and trying not to get killed. Loved this as much as all the other books. Series never gets dull.
This is the 2nd book in the Divergent series. It was a while ago since I read the first one but they filled me in quite well as to what happened. I think I enjoyed this one more than the first book.
Tris, Tobias (Four), and the rest of the gang are running from the factions that are trying to control everyone especially Jeanine Mathews who has some of her own secret reasons for doing what she is doing.
The action really never lets up as they go from one situation to the next. Looking forward to the next book. Although it seemed very wrapped in up in this one.
Ooh this was one of the best Stephanie Plum books. I kept laughing so much during this one. I won't give away the main storyline but lots of Ranger time is always good. Plus Stephanie's family keeps trying to set her up with a guy she knew a long time ago. Lula is always funny. She definitely is a hoot and a half.
I enjoyed this as an audiobook. It took a little while for me to get into it though. But eventually I did and then did not want to put it down. It was interesting enough for me to read the next book in the series.
This was a nice short story and intro into the lives of Jane and Maura. I will definitely be reading more of this series. It is funny how well they got the characters correct on the TV show Rizolli and and Isles.
This was really good. I could not stop listening to the audiobook of this. Very well done.
This was a good read. It was a different take on zombies. A bit different than I expected. I didn't know it was a YA book but it was so well written that I didn't mind. I would read the sequel to this though.
Geralt is a Witcher, taken as a child and raised to kill all sorts of monsters and sometimes he even gets paid for it.
Not all of his missions are clear cut good vs evil. Sometimes what seems to be evil is not and what is good is actually evil.
This book spawned a series of successful console games. That I now want to play after reading this.
I actually listened to it on audio and it was performed very well.
This is the second in the series and it does not disappoint. Amelia Gray is a cemetery restorer called on by an anonymous benefactor to go to South Carolina and restore Asher cemetery. She's finds out why she is drawn to the place. Amelia sees ghosts and they are not always friendly. Looking forward to the next book.
This series keeps getting funnier. The triangle between Stephanie, Ranger and Morelli keeps heating up. Stephanie tries to quite bounty hunting but a killer from the past keeps pulling her back in. Of course she cannot keep hold of a car. Stephanie has the worst luck .
I enjoyed this mystery. It kept me intrigued. I liked the characters. It was very fleshed out.
This is the first of a series of books. I enjoyed it but really needed to forgive the quick progression of the ability of the new wizards. But the world is interesting and found myself enjoying the story.
The story is about a 40ish writer who loses his wife and goes to their summer house to stay for a while. He meets a young woman and her child and gets involved in her fight to keep her child from her husband's father who is very rich. Along the way he deals with some ghosts but he is not sure who they are. Is it his wife, Sara or some other entity? I had a hard time stopping listening to this. It is read by Stephen King and he does a great job with it. Some authors cannot read their own work and do it justice but he can.
I really enjoyed this one. It was so different from other books. Taking a cue from Greek mythology instead of vampires and werewolves.
