Perfect Conclusion!

This book is a perfect conclusion to an amazing series, its a solid 4.5/4.75 stars, only reason it didn't get 5 from me being that I liked Enemy of God that tiny bit more!

The ending to Derfel's tale was a masterpiece and not just him, all the other characters that took us on this journey.

This was amazing! So glad I got recommended this! A lot of the time Sci-Fi goes over my head and I'm not saying I understood a lot of the science stuff, but this is such a great and captivating story that it wasn't an issue. Characters were brilliant, went from liking one of the main POVs to being luke warm by the end and the opposite for the other one! But they were always interesting. Cant wait to jump into book 2 soon.

Wow! This book took everything great about The Winter King and raised the stakes! It had action that made you actually sweat and moments that actually broke your heart! It was fantastic in every way! Another great job Mr Cornwell

This book was FANTASTIC! Its definitely a 4.5/4.75 rating for me but I cant colour the star in like that! I've always loved Viking tales but had never read one set in Ireland and then throw in magic and races that are in a bitter war while living among humans!

The characters were great, loved having a POV from each side of the struggle to give balance, Gormflaith was someone who I loved to hate but was always so so interesting and Fódla was my favourite, was always rooting for her and just wanted her to win through her struggles.

I can't wait for book 2 and I really hope lots of people find and read this book.

Brilliant

A great start to what I think will be a great series, all the foundations of another masterclass by Mr Cornwell. I could read his books all day long, the perfect mix of action and character to draw you in and hold you there.

What can you say without giving away spoilers, but wow what an ending to what has possibly become one of my favourite series ever!

This book was fantastic! Fast paced, full of twist and turns and great characters that you loved and really rooted for! Dunstan was brilliant, a mix between Uhtred of Bebbenburg and Perrin from the wheel of time! I cant recommend this book enough.

Oh wow! Going to need a while to het over that one before i move on to book 3! Amazing

Wow, well that was emotional! You really get sucked in to the world of ancient Greece and Sparta in particular and you feel you know the characters. Great book, making an epic moment in history even more incredible but at the same time some what relatable.

I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the next one in the series as I think thats where we will get to a 5 star book! I think older Pericles will be even more interesting than young Pericles!

A great read for anybody who loved The Gates of Athens or Protector

Amazing start to a new series! Cannot wait to see where this cast of characters end up! Really took me to another world plus I was always going to love Viking inspired fantasy!

This book is INCREDIBLE!! I had to fight myself to put it down and actually sleep. The characters are brilliant and you cant help but feel every emotion with them!
