very impressed
This is the first book I've read by Sarah J. Mass and I've got to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed it. It does fit within the YA fantasy realm, but I'm not embarrassed to say that, as a 40-year-old man, I've had a very good time with it. I look forward to reading all the books by Sarah J. Mass in the near future!
This was my second attempt at reading this book. The reason being that I wasn't in the right state of mind the first time around and it bored me a lot. I'm very happy to report that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I was again surprised (in a good way) at the end of the book and I can't wait to read the next instalment!
Boy, did I love this book? I will just say I was not expecting the ending (last 10% or so), and it definitely made me want more! I'll continue reading the series in due course :)
This book was such a struggle to get through. I only finished it because the trilogy is included in my audible membership. The premise is very promising and I had high hopes for the book, but it under delivered in so many ways. The story is boring and I never cared for any of the characters. I might listen to the second book because I have it for free, but I'll have to give it some thought.
I really enjoyed this book. I listened to it for free through my local library and I enjoyed every minute of it; so much so that I am reading another YA dystopian sci-fi right after (The Hunger Games). I have already reserved the next two books and I'll listen to them as soon as they become available!
The Witcher is boring me quite a lot; however, the audiobooks are so good that they make the story much more engaging and enjoyable to consume. It's very strange because I can't stop listening to the audiobooks. I was looking forward to finishing the previous book and then, as soon as I did, I had a sense of grief that could only be soothed by listening to the following instalment, which I am now doing. I might actually finish The Witcher before the end of the year, as I only have two books to go and I am listening to them. We'll see. Am I actually loving it and not fully realising?!
Three stars for me. It was very cosy and whimsical but ultimately, this is a romance novel, which is not what I was here for :(
Oh My God. What did I just read? I loved the first book and I have super loved the second one one. I have just purchased the last book in the trilogy and preordered the spin-off, which releases in under a month. I think you get the point
Even better on a reread! I decided to listen to this book, as I had already read it physically a few years ago, and it only gets better on a reread :)
This book promised much more than what it ended up being, as other reviewers said. I very much doubt that I will be continuing the series.
This has now become my favourite book ever. Full stop. It's, very shockingly, even better than the first one. I love that it focuses more on Shallan, as she was my favourite character in “The Way of Kings”. I can't wait to read the next books and novellas in the series. Thank you Brandon Sanderson for creating such a wonderful world.
I really wanted to like this series! Book 1 was very promising; I loved the general premise, but it has gone completely the wrong way for me. I DNF'd Dresden Files after book 5, hoping it would get better, but sadly, Nathan won't be getting any more of my time for now :(
Overall, I think the whole of The Wheel of Time's plot it a 5/5. However, it's about 5 books too long. The last three books could have been only one, as Robert Jordan had originally intended, and the whole slog (books 7-10 could have also be reduced to just one.
I don't normally read manga, but I might just start now! I bought this book for my 11-year-old son and he convinced me to read it. I loved it. Only downside is the cliffhanger, but I have the following books, so I guess I'll just have to keep reading.
