I'm trying to catch up on reviews because I really want to review everything this year even if its a sentence.
This was not a horror novel and I had a hard time getting into this book.
This was just meh. Maybe I'm over historical romance for now and I need to take a longer break from them
Seems like an unpopular opinion but my favorite book from hers is also “When She Returned” and that's also an unpopular opinion.
I really enjoyed this one! I liked peeling back the layers and learning a bit more about each character as each chapter unfolded.
It's hard to rate this because some short stories were better than others so I'm going for a neutral rating
This was lingering at a 2.5 rounded up but the ending annoyed me soooooo much I had to round down. we went through sooo much with Judith only for that to be the end? I am not pleased
Maybe closer to 2.5. A bit of a rough one but definitely had some shining moments in it!
3.5 rounded up. Took too long to ramp up then when it did everything resolved a bit too quickly
This was BY FAR his darkest novel yet. I feel so sick after reading this but wow this was quite a saga
3.5 stars rounded up! The end was super fast paced and riveting but it took a VERY long time to get there. Overall not bad but certain parts seemed to drag on.
This hero wasn't my favorite type of hero and I would've appreciated more space between her divorce and new man but this was cute and fun!
Super fun. I really enjoyed this and recommend it for anyone that enjoyed “knives out”
Closer to a 3.5. This dragged a lot more than I would think for a story with these themes which was disappointing. But I do like this author and the writing!
Read in Boonsboro in her Inn! Really enjoyed this one just wrapped up a bit too quickly for me. Would've liked a few more pages but hey there are 2 more books so there is more to come for me :)
I see this has mixed reviews but I loved this twist!!! I saw one thing coming because I read “and then there were none” so I truly appreciated the author adding a few other twists for everyone to be surprised.
Overall a really good book and one I may even reread! I would highly recommend this as a good road trip book but I read it normally.
This was SO good. I'm eating this as a suspense/family drama and not as a romance. It took me way too long to realize who the killer really was and but everything together but this was done just beautifully!
Ugh, so disappointed but this was just...rough. Romance and mystery were both just not great :(
Maybe 3.5
Not my favorite hero but overall the story and this family has its grip on me. I'm really glad I read this series!
I just do not like fantasy
So, I have given the fantasy genre a fair shot. I read Hitchhikers Guide, Narnia, and now this. I am just not an adventure gal, do not find the humor funny, and will be sticking to sci-fi.
Very short, but ultimately I enjoyed the meet-cute then how they ran into each other later on. As the love story went on they kind of lost me, but I like reading about characters in academia.
I loved this. But I also love haunted doll/puppet stories. I also love general fiction about generational trauma and grief. So this had absolutely all of the themes I love in a super interesting package.
Like the first book, this was very much a page-turner. Had a lot of the same themes as the first one as well. I found the main character frustrating at times but understand that its part of her personality due to her background. I think the end was consolidated and just wrapped up way too quickly. The therapy sessions at the end made a lot of progress VERY quickly which was weird considering how slow paced the first 2/3 of the book was and I wish we would've gotten more detail on her character growth. Overall though this is an author I will automatically read.
