Shanoah Maine

I finally picked this up after attending a panel with the writer and artist at Rose City and I'm really glad I did. I am intrigued by the world and anxious to continue Forever's story.

Highly recommend.

I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. I'm open to reading more of the series. :)

This book was quick and entertaining, which was exactly what I needed to end the year. It is a very visual book and builds a movie in one's mind, perfect audio book material.

After Second Read

Rothfuss has a wonderful author's note about how this isn't really for everyone, and he's right, I don't think everyone will love it, but I did. As he said this is a little piece of literature about a broken and damaged person for broken and damaged people.

Thank you Patrick, the world is a better place for having this story in it.

This story is really, truly great.
I love the characters and the story.
That's all. I am in love with this story.

I really enjoyed this story. I have to admit, instead of finding it charming I was distracted every time another fantasy book was referenced, for me it was a little too blatant to be funny.

But, by the end I was very interested in the story and invested in the well-being of the characters.

Update for second read through

Magicians is exponentially better the second time. Being able to expect the overt fantasy references I was not distracted by them and was instead able to enjoy them.

The first issue was good, however the other three turned a little too expected to be really enjoyable.
A standard vampire story.

Of Meyer's books I don't think this is the best, but it is still a fun read and I enjoyed it.

It became much better once the story lines starting converging.

I love this world, but I think that there might be about 2 too many story lines trying to fulfill in this installment.

A wonderful little adventure with some of my favorite characters.
