Why this book?
I remember this being the first male main character whose POV was the main perspective of a series. I was shook as I was part of the generation where most YA fantasy books written by women had a female main character. This was refreshing for me at the time and I loved the story over the coarse of the series.

My mother got this for me from a thrift store when I was in middle/high school. I had it for a few years and on whim just picked it up cause I was bored. And...I loved it so much. Not expecting it, it has become my most reread book of all time.

Why this book?
I read this because of the edition I had with a beautiful cover featuring a heart made up of different metal pieces. But through it, I learned about processing grief as a young teen and understanding relationships change because of that. It was sad and yet heartwarming, with a cute love story.

Why this book?
The feeling this short story gives me in my chest. It's hard to explain. The amount given in such a short time is remarkable. A timeless classic for sure.
Why this book?
Probably my first foray into a paranormal world as a teen, or at least the first I remember. I remember loving the whole series and binging the best I could. Rose was an amazing complex protagonist for me as a young girl to read about.
This also served as a gateway for me reading adult paranormal romance and paranormal urban fantasy. With a ton of vampires, of course.
