Read it, decide for yourself if the emotional toll is worth the ending. I found myself thinking it was too soon after Covid because we really haven't collectively grieved it...we just went to our sides and dug in or put our head in the sand. I didn't care for the ending and felt like it cheapened the story. I still recommend you read it.
Very enjoyable go around this time. I didn't see the bad guy coming. I am tiring a bit on the house subplot so hopefully that wraps soon.
Tavi and Torran with the melded crew were great with their stories, cooking and tech. I'd like to see them doing other jobs all around the universe. The concept of Luna was great.
This was a nice change from some of the post-apocalyptic tales I have been reading. When I need a break from them I usually pick up 10 cozy mysteries, but this was an even better substitute. More please!
I don't believe in God but I would believe in any saint of Our Lady of Grackles. A five star rating. Dark themes, but a heck of a lot of humor and found family. I listened to the book and that bummed me out because listening was too slow. Reading would have been faster and I just wanted to know what was happening next.
I particularly liked The Goblin Market, with its wares, payment in days of your life and the value of a nun's tooth. Not to mention that BoneDog can have a playdate at the dog park with my dog!
Pick this book up and make room for this family because you will be wanting to adventure with them again.
