I was inspired to write this review in memory of Jenny (Reading Envy) Colvin.
Vern's story is very traumatic but she is worth your time. Some of the book was difficult to read but keep on it.

This is tale told of a thousand years lived and also yet a lunch you may share with your friend tomorrow. The theme of family and what represents family balanced against the capitalistic greed of a future that awaits mankind.
The world building is solid and it is worth a read if you want you sci-fi served up with less violence and more thought and dare I say feels.

A futuristic sci-fi dystopian love story set against a revolution for the very art and soul of a society and culture. I found parts of the story a bit of challenge in the middle, but I think that might have been the fact that it was an audio version. I believe if I had been reading I wouldn't have issues about the middle. I like that the love triangle wasn't really a confrontational but a love understood among friends. I started to wonder if the Enki was up to something grander but was still very surprised about the ending and enjoyed the conclusion immensely.
This has been on TBR for awhile and I was inspired to read this as it was Jenny Colvin's (Reading Envy) TBR shelf as well. I am writing this review to honor her.

A story worth reading, especially perhaps in these quarantine times. It helped to feel less lonely though a bit aching for companionship. Beautifully told and well written. Go read it.
I like the character of Alex a lot. It took a bit slog through the middle and I do feel like the secret societies were tiring to read about. Probably because of the stink of old white money.
I will probably try the second book because of Alex and hope she finds Darlington.
Not sure I cared for the surprise relative or Foote, but think I will like him as Former.
Interesting setting and very complex way the TOX attacked and mutated its victims. I did like the relationships but felt the actual conspiracy to keep/test the girls could have been explored more.
Fun read. It was enjoyable and easy. Small town welcoming characters who invited you in. Plus pie!
This book was a lot of fun and I really liked Evie (Sage). Heroes and Villains sometimes are the same.
