I <3 Lina, I <3 Reid, and I ❤️❤️❤️ this book! Lina is a lovable, quirky character and Reid, older by 12 years, is more reserved and cautious so you don't think these 2 would ever even be able to make it past the first meeting. However, this ends up proving just how magically Laurelin Paige can weave a spicy romance. The character development in this series is on point, but I believe Reid and Lina will remain my favorite couple. I already want to go back to the beginning and read it all over again. ***Also, can I just comment how hot this photo of Lucas Weslet on the cover is?
This book was borrowed via Kindle Unlimited, along with the others in this series. The book started to get much better at about one-third of the way in. I think the men in this series are all book boyfriend material for sure, and Andre (in this book) has been my favorite. <3 Reading on..
I purchased the Kindle and Audible version of The Lost Husband by Katherine Center. I really loved this story and wish I would have read in sooner. Be forewarned that if you plan to read the book before watching the movie starring Libby Bibb and Josh Duhamel, you should probably watch the movie first. Like most movies, it doesn't come close to all the magic in the pages of the book. Let's face it, there's just not enough time on the reel to get all the nuances necessary to pull off the whole story that fans of Katharine Center really deserve. I will be recommending this book to all my book reading friends.
This is the third time I've read this book and I still think it's one of my favorite of SJM books thus far. I do wish there was a deeper romance between Chaol and Celaena - like more trysts, love letters and such. It seemed to be more of a whirlwind and it was so well-written that I would've enjoyed more of it. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys fantasies like this. It has been out for years, but it is so good!
This was a good one. Like several of my friends, I'm also finding some of the pet names used in a few of my recent contemporary romance novels a bit skeevy. I wasn't at all fond of the brute hockey player giving the FMC the moniker of “songbird”. Just noooo.
However, I did enjoy it, and would recommend it to those of my friends who haven't read it.
I bought the digital version of the film and fell in love with this story, so I read After You and then Still Me, so I decided I should finally read book one in this trilogy. I just bought the Kindle version, but I do plan to purchase the paperback or hardback set one day. Jojo Moyes is one of my favorite authors.
I loved this book! It was recommended by Heather via her YouTube channel ‘Bookables'. It was so funny! I had to share the audio of the hot air balloon scene with my daughter, because it was so hilarious that I couldn't keep it to myself. This would make such a great romcom. I'm actually surprised that hasn't happened yet!
I was able to borrow a digital copy of this book using my Libby app and I listened to the unabridged audio version via the Scribd app.
This is a very well-written book. It was incredible and (as cliche as it sounds) I really could not put it down! I read it in less than a day. I actually bought this book on Kindle about 3 months after she published it, but for some reason, I shelved it. I was kicking myself after reading the first few pages when I realized what I had been missing all these years. Now I'm picking up Colleen Hoover books left and right! :)
I would have given this book 5 stars had it not been for the sex between teenagers. That's a conflict for me. This is my personal review and I'm allowed to give my POV. If you know me, you already understand and know the multiple reasons why I have such strong opinions about that subject. That should not sway you from reading this book if that sort of thing doesn't bother you.
I listened to the audio version of this book via Scribd. It was a bit predictable, but there were a few red herrings dispersed throughout so I gave it 1 more star than I would have otherwise. I'm just not a fan of foolish or gullible female protagonists, or else I may have given it 4 stars. I just couldn't stand behind Gen.
I started this book back when hockey season started and found it on KU, but the misdial/sharing secrets with a stranger who was actually not a stranger seemed too implausible for me so I stopped reading. After my friends raved about it I decided to finish it. Would def recommend if you like
I can usually get into a JODI PICOULT story from jump, and Nineteen Minutes was no different She really has an uncanny way of getting into the teen psyche. It was so raw and honest (typical JP) and you can't ask for more than that in a book.
One bonus from reading Jodi Picoult is that I usually learn a lot about things I never would have [thought] I would find interesting before. This story, in particular, deals with the subject of midwifery and I really enjoyed that POV. There were some difficult situations to deal with and she writes with such perfection that it is almost like you're there in the midst of it all. This made it a little tough at times for me being the mom of a teen with some issues, but all-in-all it was a great read.
Notes: I read half of this on my Nook, then I lost my charger during a move so a year later I grabbed the paperback at B&N. I also purchased the audio version on Audible, but only listened to a few early chapters to catch up to where I had left off the first time.
This was a very suspenseful story and I enjoyed the ride. Speaking of rides, the hot & heavy in this book literally made me blush. Not kidding! It was very steamy and I enjoyed everything about it. I borrowed this via Kindle Unlimited and purchased the Audible recording to Whispersync simultaneously - as I do with most books I read. It was worth the price to add the narration because it was exceptional, as always. This was narrated by Andi Arndt and Joe Arden, and we all know how great they are at what they do. I would definitely recommend Love Me Today by A.L. Jackson. She has been one of my top favorite authors for many years so I always recommend her books to my friends. I'm moving on now to the 2nd book in the series.
“Dimples” and his romantic gestures kept me reading and enjoying this book, even though I was not much of a Cami fan. I must comment that there's a difference between “dad jokes” and “ pick-up lines”, the latter of which were what Zach was actually spouting off. In the end, I decided I did like this one.
Note: The ebook version had a lot of errors and typos that were missed so an update may be in order, if that's possible.
This is such a good book! I'd expect nothing less from Karla Sorensen though. She takes you to tears and then has you laughing in the next chapter. My heart was beaming all the way through - this one's got me all in the feels! The KU version came with the audiobook for free and it was superb!
Really surprised
This never was my type of book trilogy, but my taste is so eclectic anyway so I gave it a shot. I'm glad I did. I felt the ending was rushed and didn't particularly enjoy the part with Teddy in the meadow walking back to the big house. That seemed very odd and out of sync. I did enjoy the trilogy and this last book, though.
I really enjoy Ana's books, however my anticipation for King of Greed was so built up that I may have expected too much and set myself up for disappointment. It also could have been the reviews I watched and read before reading it. Many of the reviewers I usually follow gave this one 5 stars and touted it had a lot of groveling, but I just didn't see it. Dom didn't do enough. I did like this book, but it didn't deliver anything extra special and while I liked Alessandra's character, I didn't see anything special about Dominic. To me, Ale deserved so much more. I even found myself wishing she would get the devotion she deserved from her new landlord.
Another great book by Sarah J. Maas! I really enjoyed the ending. I want to read it again already! Would definitely recommend this Crescent City and the Court of Thorns and Roses series to fantasy romance (Romantasy) fans. I read the ebook via the Kindle app on my iPad while simultaneously listening to the Audible recording. The book was epic! While Elizabeth Evans is an awesome narrator, the high esteem of these books should allow for a male narrator for the male voices. She doesn't do those and they've become expected. I say this with a lot of audiobook experience- I own over 950 Audible titles alone, and I have subscriptions to Kobo, Everand (fka Scribd), Audiobooks.com, and I borrow them through Libby. That is a lot of audio listening so I really do believe wholeheartedly adding a male voice, in addition to Evans, would have made this even more epic!
Thought provoking and addictive!
I enjoyed this book. It really made me wonder, “What if I hit my head and lost 10 years of my life?” It was difficult to put down and I loved the ending! I do hope a movie comes to fruition, because this is a great story with an even better message for those who like to see their glass ‘half empty' sometimes.
This book was a beautifully poignant, yet fast read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, the author's afterword was equally beautiful and evoked emotions that rendered me to tears. As much as I appreciate afterwords, that was certainly a first for me! I definitely recommend this one if you're looking for a quick emotional roller coaster ride. Right now it's available on Kindle Unlimited and the audible book is free to borrow along with it.
