I think I have to accept that my dark heart likes cutesy romance as long as it's in graphic form only and stop fighting it. I laughed a lot with this one. Snug indeed.
Omg, that was so good. so, so good. I absolutely loved all the characters, the insanity of the galaxies, and the plot. I'm just pissed I didn't buy more volumes at the same time I ordered this, but that will change.
This book just reaffirms my belief that humans are weirdly silly and I could never work in customer service because the likelihood of being fired for laughing appropriately at something inappropriate would be extremely high.
This was a funny and quick read.
Customer: I've been using the library a lot in the last six months to take out books about losing weight...You should, too!
Customer: Hi, I'm looking for a bookshop that sells antique door handles.
I enjoyed this bite-sized book as much as the first. A good chuckle while drinking my latte. People are hilariously weird...
This is the second novel I've read by Sienne Vega, and I wasn't disappointed. The only thing I am left wondering is: What was Sydney's plan to get revenge on The Steel Kings? She went in without a plan or a clue, and it remained that way.
I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I'm very interested in reading and learning more about the members of The Steel Kings.
3.5
I kind of feel if I had read this physically instead of listening to the audio I would have rated this 4 stars. I got lost towards the end and my mind started to wonder. I will re-read this physically some day.
Well, that was horrific to read. I mean, I've watched some clips of the anime on YouTube. You know, like those Watch Mojo Top 10 Anime Deaths videos? I watched when I was new to anime and didn't used to read manga, so there was no skin in the game. It was disturbing back then; however, I found reading it worse. I'm in for a world of hurt going forward right?
I hate most romance books and films. They make me want to vom. In fiction and real life. The only romances I inhale are the messed-up, dark kind of romance, yet for some bizarre reason, when it comes to graphic books, I can happily read smoochy stuff as long as it's written well, and this book was EVERYTHING!
This book is a sapphic, cute, funny and heartwarming romance story about two college girls. Momo is introverted and shy with what would seem to be social anxiety. and PG is a popular lady who appears to leave a trail of broken hearts behind her.
The relationship development between them was so adorable, I didn't vomit once. The backstories of the girls, the college vibes, Eunnie's writing, and the beautiful illustrations had me kicking my feet. I am a grown woman kicking my damn feet because I wanted nothing but the best for Momo and PG.
Momo, whom I instantly loved, reminds me of me: introverted, shy, and with a small circle of friends. From the very start, I felt there was more to PG, she didn't seem very happy with her choices, but she was very charming, and I liked her a lot.
The bipoc representation throughout the entire book was chefs kiss. As a Londoner, that's what I am used to, and I love seeing that in books.
I didn't expect this would be a 5-star read, but it was. I really can't wait to see what other books Eunnie will be putting out. I will definitely be reading this again, and it's such a pretty book to look at, hold, and read.
Things I have noticed by the end of Volume 2:
People seem to hate Chu instantly, for no good reason.
There is a sign in the F.D.A.'s car park advising agents not to “choke the chicken” there.
In one panel, the film Mary Poppins plays on a TV in the background.
Chu is a badarse.
The ending of Chapter 4 had me gagged but makes sense.
Humans will eat a lot of gross shit in pursuit of animal flesh rather than just being happy eating a vegetable.
There's an RG+AH written in a heart on page 22 which I am assuming was a tribute from Rob Guillory to his wife, Alice Guillory, his then girlfriend.
There is a Wanted poster for John Layman somewhere.
Brooks was here, Red was here too is written on a wall in prison. A shout-out to the Stephen King book and film Shawshank Redemption.
Guillory was committed to a mental asylum while his sanity was in question.
I am a fan of Rob Guillory and John Laymen
I bought this because I thought the idea was intriguing and was wondering if I would get grossed out by the cannibalism. As a vegan, I read this with a different outlook than I would have before I turned vegan and ate strictly plant-based foods. Since agriculture is so unsustainable and profoundly destructive, I do not think it is improbable that meat will eventually end up on the black market during our lifetimes; rather, I think it is more likely since humans only act when it's too late.
The story ended up going in a direction I never imagined, vampires and Savoy's treachery and I will definitely be continuing this series.
I really enjoyed this. The humour, action, and spice were top-notch. For anyone who hates slushy romance, you'll be pleased that there is none in this book to make you vom.
Joyce is hilarious and stubborn, and the dynamic between her and dirty, dirty Aiden works so well. I can't wait for the second book in this series. I will be ordering it as soon as it's released.
I absolutely adored this volume. It was funny as heck as we got to explore the world from Anya's, Becky's, and Bond's perspectives. I especially loved watching Becky lose all sense and sensibility as she hilariously tries to usurp Yor as wife of the family. This was one of my favourite volumes thus far with laughs aplenty.
This book is a thrilling read with the author keeping you on edge with unexpected twists and turns. As you delve deeper, you begin to question the main character's sanity and those around her, leaving you unsure of who to trust. If you enjoy suspenseful novels, this is a perfect fit.
While some of the stories in the book improved as I read, I did notice a concerning amount of fatphobia in one of them. Additionally, I found that the endings of the stories were somewhat predictable and lacked character redemption. However, one character, Gloria, stood out to me and I would be interested in reading more about her. Overall, I felt that the book deserved a two-star rating.
I've come back the following year having read this book to state that Lowen is truly unpleasant, and I needed to get that out of my system.

This was so cute and funny. I loved that Cinnamon referred to Fallon as “My Dragon.” Awwww, who'd of thought my depraved, dark romance is life, smut slut, nasty arse would have liked such cuteness with minimal but well-written spice? You live and learn. I'll definitely be reading more from this series.
There is a CW at the start of the book for SA, violence, strong language and body horror.
From the very start of this novella, I was exclaiming “wtf?” as the main character seemed so subservient and I felt I was not going to connect to her. It wasn't long before I realised her assumed subservient attitude was more so a response to past traumatic events. It was painful to witness how much she gaslit herself questioning her very real feelings and intuitions, punishing herself for her reactions.
I loved the pacing of this book and read it in one go as it's a short read. I was rooting for the main character once I knew her story.
I highly recommend this novella, the only logical next step for me is to read more from Jeremy Ray.
I went through a myriad of emotions reading this short story. From laughing to ugly crying. I absolutely did NOT expect a plant named “George” to elicit such a reaction. Please take 20 minutes to read this story. You won't regret it.
This was... not good. I hate leaving 1-star reviews but this was hard to get through. The only reason I finished it is because there are often 16 lines of text on a page, even then time dragged.
I get what the author was going for, and I am accustomed to reading different writing styles but this book seemed a mess. Not much direction, not many laughs. Where was the humour we were promised? I laughed 5 times. 5 short abrupt laughs that didn't linger. I counted.
The story would tease you with storylines that went nowhere.
I'm actually quite pissed off I stuck with this book. I got it. I just didn't like it.
In my opinion, the book was okay. Though it did get better as I kept reading, I was expecting more considering the number of authors who took part in writing it.
Part 4 had some really impressive stories, but there were also quite a few that didn't quite meet my expectations. The story on race and the culture of hookup apps left me gagged and gooped. Nevertheless, there were a handful of standout stories that left me craving more from those authors just not enough to warrant more than a 2.5-star review rounded up to 3 because the book cover is sexy.
I didn't laugh once, unfortunately. Not once. It's literally just random panels of mundane aspects of relationships for the most part, with a bit of cute love stuff thrown in.
