This book was bat-shit crazy and had me confused most of the time. Like the overall plot was a typical thriller but the big twist and even bigger twist were just insane. Also there was no one to root for as the main character was very unlikeable and just made the stupidest, unrealistic decisions.
Truly a great message behind the book but I had a hard time connecting to it — mainly due to the book's summary not being a great representative. I wish it would've come with trigger warnings and that the last part would've been less rushed.
Wonderful addition to the unwind series! It introduced some new characters and gave you backgrounds to so many old ones, even very minor ones. It answered a lot of remaining questions from the last book. The stories about the parts pirates were by far the best.
This would've already been a 5 star read, but the twist just solidified it. Somehow didn't read as cheesy despite the premise
As usual, another amazing book by Bradbury. Such a unique way to display short stories that only he could've done. Can't even pick a favorite there were so many unique and moving ones. The way he builds a universe in a few pages will always astound me.
It took me a while to get into this one, but once I did it was a terrific read. The last half had a ton of suspense and I had no idea how it was going to end.
Uniquely fun and interesting novel that I makes you want to order the rest of the series right away. Took some time to get into the formatting, but I ended up loving it at the end especially someone of the beautiful compositions done with the AI.
Truly a comforting read that's basically the inspiring things the author experienced when he was going through rough times in his life.
The weirdest book I've ever read, very happy it was a short read. I'm sure that many would like this but it just wasn't for me. Almost a DNF
Very much an overhyped read. Wasn't that scary or even psychologically trilling. The ending was disappointing too but was probably the only scary part.
Wonderful (and scary) concept. The ending was definitely a twist I didn't see coming, although reading back there was definitely foreshadowing. The use of multiple narratives really made this book flow so well and allowed for a complex read.
It would've been interesting to have seen some glimpses of the direct aftermath of the war and how everything came into place. The reader gets a few peaks but just not enough.
Surprised how the author was able to make this premise so believable and included issues and uncertainties that helped strength it.
Really informative and, at many moments, horrifying. Author did a great job at trying to stay neutral to the situations and looking through both parties' eyes.
Cute read that did a good job staying light and refreshing despite the main character's struggle. Loved the nice little twist towards the end! Also good to see a different kind of representation for the leading man.
The entire time I was reading I just wanted to get to the end. I was solely interested in who the killer was and the other details seemed to drag. The characters were so unlikable, even the narrator; I just wanted some redeeming qualities. The ending was good tho.
Had to go back and downgrade it to a 1 star cause after thinking about it, the writing seemed to romanticize cutting and thinking back on the story made me nauseous and not in a good murder mystery way.
The best series I've ever read! I have no words I've never been this satisfied by an ending before.
It really is a timeless read and has so many modern concepts. The friendship and humor within the story were so unexpected and refreshing. The last quarter made the read lose stars for me since it just dragged on and became repetitive despite being the climax.
Author did a great job at world building and made the characters feel very realistic.
Really appreciate the novel as a whole and the history of it, but it was just so much work to read this one. There was also inconsistencies between the prose that threw me off, as well as with the ordering of the events that happened.
Also, I went into the novel expecting it to be entirely in the devil's perspective and I his presence was almost nonexistent in the last quarter.
The first book I've read this year that I didn't want to put down. It was so different from anything I've read. Such a complex look at the dynamics of freedom and womanhood told through the perspective of AI. Great ending that was subtle yet dramatic. I also hope Doug burns in literary hell.
Turning out to be such an amazing series! Excited to read the rest of the books, but also scared cause that's a lot of room for heartbreak.
Great read but I did want it to go a different route. The design of the book was so cool and unique, definitely boosted the experience for me.
