Chomsky is always a great idea, it is ever more difficult to still find contemporary critics of Capitalism and the greed of the 1% and large corporations, but Chomsky is always there. The book is a collection of different seminars and conversations around the time of the rise of the Occupy Movements across the globe and discusses the need for societies to revolt against capitalism and the powerful. Perhaps the format of the book and the fact the occupy movement is very much dead by 2020 didn't allow me to appreciate it as much as I should have. In any case... Chomsky is always a great idea

Obra culmen del teatro castellano del siglo XX. Narra el paso de los años en una pequeña comunidad de vecinos, las frustraciones de los sueños de juventud sin cumplir y amores fracasados arrollados por la cruel realidad de la sociedad y pobreza de la post-guerra. De obligada lectura, se lee de una sentada.

Una de las obras españolas más conocidas del siglo XX, narra el drama que supuso la Guerra Civil en un pequeño pueblo Aragones. Venganzas, traiciones y remordimientos. Fácil de leer casi del tirón. Todo lo que he leído de Ramón J. Sender siempre me ha encantado.

Ridiculously funny at times, philosophical at others... in general always entertaining. It had been on my “to read” list for years and I am happy to have finally got around to reading it. A science-fiction cult novel quite different to most books of its genre. Definitely recommended. I will surely continue with the rest of the saga and the adventures of Arthur Dent across the universe.
Muy buena biografía sobre una de las figuras más transcendentales y polémicas del Siglo XX. Leon Trotsky fue sin duda el intelectual más brillante de la revolución rusa, su carisma y poder para la oratoria fueron claves en aunar las masas de obreros, militares y marineros para llevar acabo la revolución. Escritor y lector empedernido, su dominio de media docena de idiomas y estancias en diversas capitales europeas estuvieron cerca de conseguir su tan ansiada “Revolución Permanente”. Marxista dogmático, sus críticas y denuncias de la burocratizacion de la URSS bajo Stalin le llevaron a la muerte y dividieron el Socialismo y Comunismo global en corrientes irreconciliables. Lectura muy recomendada para quien quiera acercarse y comprender mejor a un personaje complejo y brillante, un revolucionario implacable con una fe inquebrantable en el ideal de la dictadura del proletariado.

A great read for anyone interested in one of the most important moments in modern history, the Spanish Civil War, and in the city of Barcelona. The author gives one of the best summaries I've read on the events leading up to the conflict, avoiding heavy and lengthy details on the complexities and presenting the facts in short sections easy to read through. The second part of the book focuses on locations across the centre of Barcelona where these events unfolded.
Scholars on the ideological, geographical and social complexities of Spain in the ‘30s may find it too simplified and superficial, but the intention of the book is to provide a different and historical vision of Barcelona beyond the present day top tourist destination focusing on the moment of history that changed the city, Catalonia and Spain forever.
Few things are as enjoyable as reading a good book. Just finished Upton Sinclair's “The Jungle”, one of those books that leaves burnt into your memory scenes difficult to forget, one can still quote paragraphs from “Jude the Obscure” or “Crime & Punishment” after more than two decades. Sinclair's novel addresses in documentary detail the ruthless capitalist system of the early 20th Century, the exploitation of immigrant workers and the filthy unhygienic practices of the meat industry. Issues which more than a 100 years later are very much present day
Essential reading to understand the principles of anarchism. Was happily surprised to find about 50% of the book focuses on the Spanish Revolution or attempt of creating an anarchist state in the early months of the Spanish Civil War in 1936. As a citizen of Barcelona and Catalunya it was interesting to understand that this is considered the most successful and largest attempt at applying anarchism. This book is a must for any convinced “leftist”, without doubt Chomsky is a reference for our generation.

Lectura imprescindible sobre la figura histórica de José Miguel Beñaran Ordeñana (Argala), hombre clave dentro de ETA en los años 70. De fuertes convicciones marxistas-leninistas Argala no solo fue el ideólogo y ejecutor del más brillante e importante atentado de ETA (Operación Ogro contra Carrero Blanco) también fue figura fundamental durante la transición española y también en la fractura dentro de ETA en las dos facciones que marcarían la historia de Euskal Herria y el Estado Español durante 3 largas décadas. A pesar de su alto contenido político es un libro de muy fácil lectura imprescindible para comprender la figura de Argala, la historia de ETA, el movimiento abertzale en Euskal Herria y el terrorismo de estado de España. Muy recomendado

Me lo he leído casi de una sentada, muy fácil de leer. Uno de los 3 libros más impresos de la historia de la humanidad, imprescindible lectura para entender el siglo XX. El pasado, presente y futuro del mayor país del mundo y la ética intachable de trabajo de su pueblo.

En un món just la història donarà càstig al poble Sionista i absoldrà al poble Palestí en la seva lluita pel que els van robar ... la llibertat i la dignitat.
En España se ha cometido un gran error histórico, nos hicieron pensar que lo mejor era pasar pagina y el silencio por miedo a remover el pasado ha tapado durante décadas las atrocidades cometidas con los derrotados sobretodo en algunas zonas rurales. Mientras los politicos se siguen negando ha abrir fosas es hora de dar un paso adelante y honrar a tanto inocente sin tumba. Un libro excepcional, nunca un vuelo se me paso tan rápido y con tanta lagrima de rabia
