What are your favorite books of all time?Answer

When you think back on every book you've ever read, what are some of your favorites? These can be from any time of your life – books that resonated with you as a kid, ones that shaped your personality as a teen, or ones that inspired you. Whatever conditions you want. These are your favorites after all.

Interview with the Vampire

#1 of 13 in The Vampire Chronicles

1976 • 1,146 Readers • 346 pages 3.8

Why this book?

A close second, Interview is that story of dark redemption totally unfulfilled, can we ever stop being the monster? Louis will always be my most beloved vampire and as for Claudia, her story is haunting. I was devastated when, as a teen, it became clear Lestat was the main character of the whole series, but I’ve enjoyed the series so much and I can’t imagine not have first stepped into this world without Louis breaking the rules first.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

#1 of 14 in Oz

101 • 656 Readers • 61 pages 3.8

Why this book?

This book was likely not my first ever, but it was the one that opened the doors of fantasy and vast characters and just the sheer joy of having that magical experience. The movie is classic of course; but the book and series REALLY are the first American fairy tail and empower women and put them in roles we hadn’t seen prior to this. Dorthy isn’t rescued; she rescues. Fantastic.
